Worst Pro Match Meltdown You Seen

I love gambling with those kind of guys. A true genius of a player I once knew often said, “there are 2 kinds of players, those that keep their emotions in control and take down the cash and titles, and those who do not”.
Earl never kept his emotions in check and I would bet everything that he had way more titles than this " true genius " player you refer to.

I am incapable of understanding guys that lose their cool and start being idiots. I understand playing embarrassingly bad and being frustrated with yourself, but do as I do: pack your shit, have a beer, and go home.
But I think I'm in the minority in that I play because I love the game. My cues are art with function. I could never imagine throwing or breaking one of them. It's my fault I suck, not the cue's.

Pride coupled with anger management problems attached with self-victimization. Many players go on with their pool careers incapable of handling their mistakes. Fear of mistakes & losing are the worst motivators in pool resulting in a whole variety of blowups and meltdowns. Also bigger conflict between execution reality versus skills self-image is always a solid foundation for blow ups.

I would say there are a few top level exceptions who are able to plow through their anger, perfectionism and absolute desire to win such as Earl and Mika but they both have their ultimate skill set to rely on.

I would disagree with you. In his prime, in matches and events where he took down his titles, Earls emotions were in check. It was those moments where he got what he felt was a bad roll, or that he felt his opponent got a good one undeserved, or when that delusional paranoia and mental illness he is cursed with surfaced that he would lose control over his emotions and his famous meltdowns would occur as he completely derailed. Without those implosions, he would have won far more titles.

Oh, and regarding the player I spoke of, Earl does have more titles, as that individual was a high stakes gambler, not a tournament player. Then again, he lived a lavish life and was quite well off when he passed away. Meanwhile, Earl with all of his titles hovers now near poverty and will die broke like many pool players. That genius player was also fond of saying, “you can’t spend or eat a trophy”. 😉

Who was this true genius player? lol

Another Earl: Earl was playing in the 14.1 Championships, and he threw a fit when he saw Hunter Lombardo practicing nearby. First he stalked off and made his opponent wait while he complained to the TD. After returning and then continuing to grumble about Hunter being allowed to practice in the vicinity of the Great Earl Strickland's match, Earl finally strode over to Hunter's table and had words with Hunter. Then Earl shoved Hunter. The TD then DQ'ed Earl, and Earl had to forfeit his prize money.

Well getting my mind right is my first challenge. 🤷‍♂️ I never know if I am going to show up. 🤷‍♂️
Oh yes, on topic....a $10 ring game on Friday nights in Fircrest, uh fuzzy crest Tacoma. 🤷‍♂️ One donor would shoot one handed when not pleased with his performance. He shot good one handed but was just out of his league. 🤷‍♂️ The money from his wallet was better than tears or blood. 🤷‍♂️

Earl owns the meltdown crown. Kinda like Helmuth owns the crown in poker. 🤷‍♂️
Yes and no on Earl. Because I've seen him get so angry where it's not a meltdown he's not even trying to make the balls anymore. He is knocking them off the table and stuff. I was at a tournament in South Florida he was he's playing a local player who has no chance at all. Because the guy made the nine on the break a couple of times earl just got so angry he started slamming the balls around and then he finally quit when the score he was behind maybe 7 to 5. Race to 11.

I'm pretty sure this match is on accusats. Pete Fusco is playing somebody I don't remember who but he's playing okay and then at a point he goes completely blind and can't make anything. You couldn't leave the balls out easy enough for him to run out.
