Worst Pro Match Meltdown You Seen

I love gambling with those kind of guys. A true genius of a player I once knew often said, “there are 2 kinds of players, those that keep their emotions in control and take down the cash and titles, and those who do not”.
Earl never kept his emotions in check and I would bet everything that he had way more titles than this " true genius " player you refer to.

I am incapable of understanding guys that lose their cool and start being idiots. I understand playing embarrassingly bad and being frustrated with yourself, but do as I do: pack your shit, have a beer, and go home.
But I think I'm in the minority in that I play because I love the game. My cues are art with function. I could never imagine throwing or breaking one of them. It's my fault I suck, not the cue's.

Pride coupled with anger management problems attached with self-victimization. Many players go on with their pool careers incapable of handling their mistakes. Fear of mistakes & losing are the worst motivators in pool resulting in a whole variety of blowups and meltdowns. Also bigger conflict between execution reality versus skills self-image is always a solid foundation for blow ups.

I would say there are a few top level exceptions who are able to plow through their anger, perfectionism and absolute desire to win such as Earl and Mika but they both have their ultimate skill set to rely on.
