How Long Between Ball Polishing?

Just wondering if there are any thoughts out there on this.

Lately, I've had a regular 1pocket match on Sundays so the day before I run my set of balls through the Diamond polisher with a coating of Aramith Ball Polisher. All is good and the next few mornings I give them a short run through the ball polisher, without any product, just to clean them up -- a "wipe down" so to speak. And what I've noticed is that even just a couple of days later, practicing 14.1, the balls still open up nicely. Then, about the third day... forgetaboutit. The balls play like they are glued together.

I use 3 sets and bring out a clean set after around a month or so.
Im cleaning 3 sets about every 3 months. It’s just me and I’m playing around 10-15 hours a week.
I keep a clean rag with some polish on it and a clean micro fiber cloth to hand polish as needed, mostly the cue ball.

Sometimes I'll actually put off cleaning them if I have a tournament coming up. The hall I play at has dirty ass balls so I like to get used to that.

If I'm serious I'll polish once before a long session. Normally I'll do it after about 3 sessions.

I clean the balls before every session in my ball cleaner using a mixture of 8oz 91% Isopropyl Alcohol with 2 tablespoons of Aramith Ball Cleaner. The balls come out clean, shiny, but not slick. Very much a "fresh out of the box" feel.

If you don't clean/vac/wipe you table off regularly, balls will need cleaning more often.

Maybe I’m crazy cause I polish mine in a ball polisher (off Amazon for $150 that is amazingly good and I wouldn’t trade it for a diamond one) about 2x per week and my home table gets probably 10-20 hours play a week. I’m pretty picky when it comes to clean playing conditions. As I’ve had many league nights on equipment I feel like I need a tetanus shot at the end of the night lol!

I am, by all definitions, an advanced banger, but since I got my table and Amazon polisher, about once a week. The pool room in town I play at is not as diligent and plays so much different, so I am trying to find a happy medium. But I sure do like shiny clean balls!

Best approximation:

After no less than 4 hours and no more than 8 hours of use. Or when they start to show scuff marks and/or appear cloudy.

How Long Between Ball Polishing?

This has been the source of numerous discussions between me and the crazy redhead.

The matter is perpetually unsettled.

If it is ever settled, I will post the solution here.
