Looks like cheap fun!

Thanks for sharing!
Ok let me ask: Chopdoc, approximately how many cues do you own? My wife has the view you need two: one break and one playing cue. She can't understand multiple cue ownership despite my frequent attempts to educate her. Your situation will help mine. Thanks!

It's not about "need".

Like many things it can simply be a hobby, collecting. Some have a small collection of very expensive custom cues. Some have a few cheaper cues. A collection is whatever you want it to be. There are no rules.

Being in a profession I deal a lot with rules, standards, and guidelines. Maybe that's part of what I like about cue collecting. No rules. Total freedom to do it in any way you like.

My collection is a menagerie with various different themes and sub-collections. I am fascinated with the art, and also other aspects. Researching Mizerak and his business relationships got me into the Dove cues and the Cobra cues.

I also have customs, antiques, etc.

Why? Just for fun and feeding my interests. It's a recreation.

How many do I have? I started organizing, photographing, and updating my fragmented records a while back. I estimated 200 cues.

I still haven't counted them though. Not sure why. Maybe afraid to? LOL!

Oh...and my wife has a designer purse addiction. She has...many.

As long as I help feed that addiction my cue collecting isn't picked on too much.

That just makes my collecting WAY more expensive. LOL!

This same logic often finds it's way into relationships where one person is a guitar player, lol.

Wife / girlfriend: "Honey, how many fkg guitars do you really need? 25? 40? Really?"

Husband / boyfriend: "But, every guitar has it's own unique properties...tone (pickups), feel (neck contour and setup), aesthetic, purpose....I do really need a 2 teles, 4 strats, at least 3 les pauls, an sg, semi-hollowbody, 4 acoustics and a mandolin, a 5 string bass, travel guitar, Fender, Squier, Gibson, Epiphone, Ibanez, Suhr, Gretsch...oh, and you didn't mention pedals and amps....I really love you honey..."

Yeah but guitars take up a lot of real estate. Harder to hide... I got down to two...

So, the obsession is satisfied. I found the seventh cue.
I've been digging through cases again. I am still looking for my other cobra, the other one has linen, and darker butt sleeve wood. I figured you might like to see these since you have two of the Cobra version.

Left to right:
1. Cobra Side Winder, only one here with synthetic wrap
2. Slyfoxx
3. Craftmaser
4. Pinnacle
5. GW Collection, genuine lizard wrap
6. Sierra Apache, only one here with a 5/16x14 pin

Sort of ascending order of quality too, I guess. Yes, I am absolutely bonkers, crazy, nuts. Still looking for one brand that eludes me.

The obsession proceeds. I found the seventh cue in one of my big cases.

It's a Cobra 525 Side Winder, so I have both versions that I know of, like the 2 @Benelli has.

Full pictures of the collection are here: LINK
