Ronnie smashes Heyball table

Ronnie would clean-up in Heyball if he took it seriously.
Not really, no. Would he be good at it, great even? Yes, I think so. But pool and snooker are different, very few people can do both at the highest level, and certainly not simultaneously. He would not "clean up", as you say, Heyball is a specialty game, so is snooker for that matter. Ronny didn't do great at US pool and even if Heyball tables may be more familiar, I doubt he'd be anywhere near as good as he is in snooker.

The people who DO play well at both have been doing both for a long time. The games really are much more different than people think when it comes to the finishing touches you need to excel, even though if you are good at one you're probably decent at the other. Decent is not going to cut it. Now when we talk about Mark Selby, then.....Thats another matter. I have much more faith in him making such a transition, if he wanted to. He is after all a world champion at UK pool and not half bad at snooker either

Yeah he was born to play snooker, i agree, you can't do both. But he can make anything look good.

totally agree. the days of crossing over between different cuesports are gone. kudos to those who are trying, like melling and dennis. i believe zheng xiaohuai comes from american tables mainly and has won a heyball "station" event, but it's arguable if that counts. gary wilson made a dent in 9-ball but i think his best result was L16. the games are too specialized now.

he would be better at the 9 ball version

the best Chinese 8 ball guys have developed insane pattern recognition and the ability to break clusters

the UK 8 ball guys have done well in those Chinese competitions

not to mention Selby and Appleton and Gareth Potts

anybody can cross over if they put in the time

i still give the nudge to the top snooker pros as having the overall best skill set in all cue sports,

and thus in terms of cross over potential having the best odds to win at other games

the $$$ are approaching seven figures over there, expect them to attract talent from around the world accordingly
