Predator Men's 10 Ball JAX

10 ball is boring enough in the best of circumstances, playing it on these tables makes it a complete snoozefest.
Agreed. I always considered it a selling point of the Predator 10ball events that the pockets were a little looser than those found at the WNT majors.

Whether it is 9ball or 10ball, 4" pockets make the game a little less interesting to this fan.

A $100k prize fund is not a lot.

1st gets $30,000
2nd gets $14,000
3/4 gets $7,000
5-8 gets $3,500
Didn’t stop players from around the world to show up.
Maybe the others have enough money 😂

$30K is a year’s pay and something more in other countries.

Maybe that’s the difference that we are trying to make between American pool vs the rest of the world.

are you sure it's not the facings? on stream they look very tough, and concave

either way these tables have always been more difficult than what the pocket size and shelf depth is telling
Maybe so…. I just know they played tough and I’ve never seen so many 800+ fargos and world champions frustrated over routine shots/outs

I played in the event… the pockets were 4” and all the rails banked short. So if you hit the facing, it spit the ball out….

Brutally tough, although Atencio looks like he is playing on buckets…. Otherwise
Guys just cinching balls then playing safe…. Great venue, great event…. Arc tables are great, wish they had those
They don't look 4" (comparing to past Mosconi and UK Open tables), but i'll defer to people that were there.

Is the general sentiment that the Arc is better than the Apex? I've only played on early, stock Apex and i was...not impressed. The only thing i liked was how flush the pockets were to the top of the rail. I thought they felt...cheap?

Yep, there's a BIG difference in making the game harder(easy to do) and making it better(not so easy). Smaller wickets accomplish the former.

You've got it all figured out huh?? You don't know a fkn thing about the players, their schedules or their lives away from pool yet you feel free to make these blanket statements. Nice goin Karnak.

I like small pockets for the pros, but i agree that at some point it starts to turn into a game of attrition.
4.25" standard for open events
4" for special/invitational events

My take on small pockets is it changes how the game is played/should be played. Cheating the pocket to play position is key to good, flowing pool. Small targets turn the game into safety-filled cinch pool. I've watched enough current little pocket pool to know i don't enjoy watching it and have have zero desire to play it.

it's weird though, it can't just be the pockets. i'm watching the atencio v teutscher and like many other players in this event they have played some uncharacteristicly poor shots. the rails seem to play goofy. the cloth is fast but the pred cloth is always fast. and on the arc tables in vietnam/indonesia there wasn't this kind of frustration

its the same for all the players. i'm so sick of hearing PROFESSIONAL players bitch about tables. Adjust you butthurt little babies its part of the game.

This is why bar table pool is so popular.

The MAJORITY of pool players in the USA do so for entertainment ONLY and have no desire to play on tables where they can't make a ball.

got slugged?
No, in the last rack of the first set (which he easily could have won) he had already missed a couple of shots and she walks over out of nowhere and sits down by the table and fiddles with all her crap. She really should have waited till the rack was over to sit there ( as she wasn’t starting them on the shot clock anyways at that point). So he is walking around the table deciding on a Shot and she is fidgeting. He keeps staring at her getting all worked up. I think he made the shot and then missed shortly after. He just starts mumbling to herself and slams his cue back at the chair from then on. Albin came up made a few shots to close out the set and Henny stormed out on break saying nothing. Albin has a smirk and then leaves . When they come back she goes over to them to say they are on the shot clock and I guess she goes to explain the rules/procedures and he blows up at her barking two or three times “i know all the rules, I know all that”.. finally she goes and sits. He turns around and blasts the rack and goes to hit his next shot and she raises her hand up. He was like WHAT IS THAT?!?! Lmfao. She goes it is to show that the shot clock has been reset. He blasts her with something like “I don’t need any of that!” Thankfully she swapped out after the next rack.
