I can't say but Jerry often asks his students, at the outlet of a lesson/clinic, "I'm sure you are here to learn how to control the _______", Invariably the response will be, "well the cue ball of course." Jerry will be quick to respond, "No, the only thing you can control is the CUE STICK!" And, he teaches it well!

Jerry is in the Billiards Hall of Fame and is a world-renowned instructor. He got into the Hall of Fame because of his lifelong contributions to the game of billiards, pioneering teaching methods, etc. etc. He is also a wonderful person.

Jerry Briesath was inducted into the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame Class of 2022, recognizing his significant contributions to the sport of billiards. Briesath, who was active in the 1960s and 70s, was a unanimous selection in the Meritorious Service category. He is celebrated as the father of formal billiard instruction in America, having developed and guided the program from concept to its current roster of over 300 professional instructors globally. His induction is a testament to his enduring impact on the sport and his dedication to improving how players learn to play.

"Active in the 1960s and 70s" is a confusing but it must mean he was active as a tournament player. He is still very active as a teacher today.
