If Banks and One Pocket had a Fargo Rating system, then what players do you think would be in the 800's, or considered Elite level players?

Edit: Please disregard my Fargo question. Who do you think the very best Bank and One Pocket players in the world are? Top 10 for example?

Justin Hall, for example? He has always been one of my favorite players. Always loved watching him play.

There are a few others, who are not world champions, who really impress me, at times too.

Please forgive me though. I do not really follow the sport, or the games. I just see these guys from time to time, like from the DCC, on youtube.

A few others who have really impressed me too, are guys like Tony Chohan, and Evan Lunda. I really love Evan Lunda's game. Chohan too. They are really great.

I know the obvious ones would be guys like, Pagulayan, Gorst, SVB, Bustamante, just to name a few. Maybe Josh Filler too. I believe that Filler could probably master any game that was ever invented, on a pool table.

Anyways, thanks for any thoughts about this.

Banks and one hole are now included in fargorate as of about 5-10 years ago. I do think it may have elevated a couple guys like Tony and Anthony.

All time, if there was a FargoRate ONLY for one-hole, Efren would have to be 100 points higher than the next guy. He was about unbeatable for 20 years.

Oh, okay. I assumed it was only for 8 ball and 9 ball.

Ultimately if you strike the cueball well playing one game, you will playing another too. Sure, Justin Hall is a much better banker than rotation player, don’t think that’s debatable, but he is the exception not the rule.

I really love J Hall's Rotation game. He probably plays all of the games at a high level.

Tony Chohan is a One Pocket specialist though, right? I am not sure if he plays any of the other games very much. I know he is probably a really great all around player though.

The year Dippy Dave was at the Derby, approximately 2010, he played a bunch of the top pros, getting wild spots, and beat them. He had a big match with Corey in the action room and it went down to the case game and they both needed I think 3 balls. Corey went for some stupid aggressive shot and lost the match from there.

In contrast, he played a big set with JHall. JHall played legit one pocket. He played way more conservative than Corey. He'd go for small runs, then play lock up safes, and basically suffocated Dippy. JHall won pretty easily. Dippy was mad and tipped his man purse over high up in the air so all of the stake money fell down in individual bills all over the table and floor. I was cracking up when I saw it.

The moral of the story is JHall played a much better one-hole game than Corey, and got the cash.

Great story. I think my two favorite One Pocket / Bank players are J Hall, and Evan Lunda.

I know, some of the other top guys might be better though. Like Fedor, SVB, and Pagulayan, to name a few.

Hall and Chohan playing rotation games would be a coin flip. And I'd probably bet on Tony if I had to bet.

Agree. He looks to be using a regular maple shaft as well - something you rarely see from prodominantly rotation players.

I disagree. Here is a recent video from 1 month ago, showing Justin Hall beating Jesus Atencio twice in a true double elimination format, 9ball race to 7. Jesus is currently one of the hottest players on the tour and Hall beat him, twice in the finals. Granted, it was on an adolescent table, but he still won. I don't think Chohan can do that. I would have to see it.

That's great. Doesn't "prove" anything though. Race to 7 on the bartable isn't exactly a barometer for which we measure players.

no particular order...
SVB
Alex
Dennis
Busty
Toss up Tony or Bergman

Seems many have forgotten about Dennis. I imagine when he is allowed back to the US, he'll play as good or if not better considering he's only been playing in and around East Asia for the most part. When he left, the whole world believed he and Alex to be the best...

Dennis was my personal GOAT for a very long time. Highly feared money player in all games. Nerves of steel. Enjoyed watching him play 10ball and one-pocket for the cash. Players avoided him on a regular basis lol. Also, he is fast as heck on a table, makes it even more enjoyable. Can't wait to see his return to American pool.
