PBS St Louis 2026 (Men’s World 8 Ball Championship, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Open, Bank Pool), 1-8 April, Half Million Prize Fund

Brutal! Never miss a shot, didn’t commit a single foul, but still lost the match because of the lag!
Feels like a rule change is needed.

Winner breaks is fine, but should be capped to 5 break and runs from the start of the game.

So in the Biado example, the break would have automatically switched at 5-0.

Interesting that Wiktor is shown with the AIN flag instead of the Polish one. You can’t even represent your country if you’re not a part of the federation?

I only saw one example, but the clock did stop when Sky had the CB cleaned, as well.

Hmm. If that’s what they are doing I agree it’s a problem. CB cleaning should not stop the clock IMO - I guess maybe I would see an exception if there was a foreign substance on the CB (like a hair) as opposed to just a chalk mark.

The clock didn't stop in the Bergman-Sky match, so it sounds like it's up to the referee.

While eight ball has always bored me, I gave it a chance today, watching my first two matches of this event. Saw Sky Woodward win despite playing about as badly as I've ever seen him play. Saw Gorst beat Lechner, too. Based on a cursory review of the scores, Jayson Shaw looks like the one to beat, but there's a lot of pool left.

Last night, I watched Shaw and Centeno in the mixed doubles and loved it. On offense, they didn't even talk to each other. They both have the gift of almost instantaneous pattern recognition and can comfortably rely on each other to play onto the right angle for the next shot.

This might be a big week for Shaw, already the runner-up in the bank pool event, and well-placed in men's eight ball and mixed doubles.

Finally, have to love that Stefan Kasper who, other than Ameer Ali, is likely the world's best part time player, is on to the last sixteen. What a story it would be if he keeps it going!

This commentator is unbearable. Constantly trying to predict what the players would do, always getting it wrong, and critiquing their shot selection and/or missed shots. He must be a Fargo 900.

Incredible scotch doubles match. Fu just came with the most clutch side pocket shot on the 8ball to allow them to win the 2nd set and force a 3rd set tiebreaker. Both teams have missed 6 balls each, but other than that, play has been great, some really nice safeties and jumps. Fu is really impressive. Bergman has ice in his veins. And Shaw & Centeno drill tough balls in like they're in the practice room. They are a tough team to beat. Both lefties so they have that advantage as well.

The one in the match currently being played (Bergman/Fu v Shaw/Centeno). Commentator without the accent. No idea what his name is.
That's Chris Robinson, he's a pretty decent player.

Although I can't say that I haven't questioned some of his commentary...

By the way, there is another commentary match being played at the same time (the Gorst/Bean team) on T2. You can watch that one instead.
