Btw what brought me here was y’all talking about the Smithsonian Institute and who the queue makers were that made a Q to go in there. The Schick Q is one that’s in there. I never got to see what Billy made but I can only imagine I’ve seen cues that he sold the people overseas for $40,000 back in the 80s which Billy hated to do. I had a Q made, and I gave him the diamonds and the gold to put on it. That queue was fancy, but nothing like the one he made with my turkey and my dear . I remember sitting around one day before Billy passed away and I asked him I said Billy what are you rank in the top of those Q makers? Oh, you didn’t want to see them eyes when he turned and looked at me back in the 70s Billy was used by the owner of the Pool Hall guys and dolls in Shreveport, Louisiana. We went to Arkansas two of the top local pros to play a guy named country Calvin they played on a bar table with a big Q ball. Calvin beat us . The owner of the Pool Hall took them two back over there and lost big money. When Red (Red Box the owner of the pool hall) come back in town, he told Billy find me a pool player. And that’s when we learned about Buddy Hall the rifleman. Buddy went over there and ended up breaking the whole house. It was kind of funny but after that Billy Red and Buddy had all the pros come here to play Buddy. you talking about some champion pool players I was just 17 then I’m 71 now but I’ve seen it all. I’ve lived the Pooll Hall life. Nothing anyone can say IDK. By the way that Story about the queue makers babushka one of the guys had one of those cues beautiful stick.Well enjoyed sharing this with y’all. I’ve got pool hall stories that could go on and on. Leagues. Back then you matched up and played. League’s. I still to this day have no ideal hope that works but was only told years ago that if I played with any team. I’d be a 9 whatever that is lol.
