Cuetec Fires Strickland

Earl like so many incredible people can be outrageous but his accomplishments are just as outrageous,

There was a time when he was the best of the best and that cannot be argued by anyone .,

Cuetec sucks. Earl is right about that. 100%

A few years ago when I was down in Owensboro both me and Nick Varner had the same impression of a Cuetec cue. That being as follows:

"The only good thing about a Cuetec is that you can put a string on it and go fishing with it the next day....."

I first got into watching 9 ball because the snooker player Steve Davis started playing. He was the main person I supported back then, but instantly fell in love with Reyes, both because of the player he was, but his mannerisms just gave me the vibe he'd be a lovely guy. For me Strickland was the guy I hated that I wanted to lose. Was good having someone to cheer against. When I was younger, just thought he was an arsehole. Now I'm older, I more feel sorry for him and feel he probably has mental health issues. Bit of a flawed genius, maybe cut from a similar cloth to Ronnie in snooker.

From the European point of view was good having a "baddie" to cheer against at the Mosconi, definitely made me more invested in it.

That may have been true then, but I think they make a fine cue (for a production cue) now.

I just posted this in a different thread a while back. I bought this shaft from Diana Hoppe. It's one of the shafts Earl played with back in the day.
When I talked to Earl about it a few years ago, he laughed and went on for a bit about how those shafts were almost unplayable. He spent many hours at night in a hotel room with sandpaper trying to modify them into something usable. Pics don't show it really well, but he pretty much cut through all of the fiberglass layer to get to the wood on most of the shaft.
