$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

Imagine winning $1.5M and then coming back to play WNT tournaments 😂😂

As Gideon mentioned, he will probably only be interested in WPC.

pool players shouldn't hang their hopes on a big outside sponsor continuing to add money like this.. it's very possible this whiskey co. didn't find it being a good return for their investment and that this was just a one-off.

Pretty good overview of Wu's journey: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18ZQtFSPgr/. The second half is basically paraphrasing what he said in the post-match interviews.

I found this part very interesting
45 Days of Silence
Before 2026, Wu trained for 45 days in secrecy with Xue Zhenqi.

I feel like you don't often hear about direct competitors training like this together (outside of practicing for doubles), especially in the US.

For snooker, I think all of the Chinese players who stay in the UK train together. You frequently hear of others, like the Scots, practicing together.

For US pool, it seems rare.

Considering the payout structure in this event, it would have made sense for two top players to combine forces and maybe share proceeds.
