Lathe wanted

Numobams has some in stock now in US. Just ordered this one, dual chuck 4 jaw, w dro. I have a deluxe now and wanted to try one of these.

Congratulations, hope you can give a report on it when you get it? I thought about ordering one but all gone now.

I'm having a hard time envisioning how you are spinning the wood with the thread pitch there.

This is what I did.

The two steel prices have a 5/16 x 18 rod in between. The shaft attaches with a maint pin. When you unscrew the two pieces the tenon moves down to the dremel and follows the threads

That lathe shows a threading option for 18 tpi but still not 10 tpi. After doing some search on the forums you can easily get 10 tpi by setting it on the metric, I think, and using the custom option and dialing it in. One poster gave the setting for it. After xianmacs posted he ordered one, he also posted on another forum I think and they sold out quickly, ha ha.

The motor on the basic got a huge upgrade late last year. We changed it from the little ac 280 watt version to a much better 550 watt dc motor with a speed control that has a lot better range in variability. It also now uses the same belt - bracket - and pulley system as the pro version so no more stretched and broken o-ring belts
I'll be calling you tomorrow about the basic set up. I live in Lafayette and would like to come and pick one up if in stock.
