What do you do with the taig based lathes. That seems like a great small lathe except if you want to thread 10 tooth per in. Guess you'll have to tap that. Pretty good little option though.

I built a threading jig for mine but haven't used it since I got my metal lathe. What do you do with the taig based lathes.
I'm having a hard time envisioning how you are spinning the wood with the thread pitch there.https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/tenon-threader.351000/#post-4576090
I made a prototype years ago but it only did 18tpi
The two steel prices have a 5/16 x 18 rod in between. The shaft attaches with a maint pin. When you unscrew the two pieces the tenon moves down to the dremel and follows the threadsI'm having a hard time envisioning how you are spinning the wood with the thread pitch there.
This is what I did.

Pool Cue Building-Live Threading With A Pool Cue Lathe
What I came up with to live thread using a taig based pool cue lathe. Use your imagination this basic concept has a lot of ways to accomplish the goal Please like and subscribe to my channel!rumble.com
I'll be calling you tomorrow about the basic set up. I live in Lafayette and would like to come and pick one up if in stock. The motor on the basic got a huge upgrade late last year. We changed it from the little ac 280 watt version to a much better 550 watt dc motor with a speed control that has a lot better range in variability. It also now uses the same belt - bracket - and pulley system as the pro version so no more stretched and broken o-ring belts
Sure thing - Thank youI'll be calling you tomorrow about the basic set up. I live in Lafayette and would like to come and pick one up if in stock.
Thanks Rick !I drove out to Chris' shop and picked up the basic cue repair lathe with the upgrade package and some extras. Meeting Chris was a pleasant experience and his shop set up is packed with supplies. I don't need to go into the design and quality of Chris' products and, after setting up my lathe, was not disappointed. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about cue making products and is the "go to" guy for any of your problems.
So far how do you like itNumobams lathe finally showed up this morning for me. It's been a real trying experience dealing direct with China but it all worked out in the end. Fit through my double shop doors with an inch and a half to spare. that was a little nerve racking as my tractor was bouncing left and right that much and if I caught a door it would have just ripped off, not much stops the tractor. Anyway it's in, heavier than I thought and now I'm trying to figure out how to get it up on the counter where its going. Was just going to ask a farmer friend down the rd, but my wife just said he's having back issues. I've hears some use a portable engine hoist. I may call another farmer that I know and see if a few strong hands can help.

Nice shop! I’d love to have 1/2 of that space!! Looking forward to your review!!!I have no idea, still waiting for help to lift it up, it's heavy. It's a lot of lathe for $1900 shipped. Got it with the DRO.
Took a little longer than expected but not bad all considering, about 2 1/2 months I think.
That was ok as I have been fishing all summer till mid October anyway and had some shop redo to do.
I have a couple farmer friends coming over to help but there are busy till evening and we're supposed to come Tuesday but a big buck has been showing up on their land and wanted to bow hunt that. So I told them Saturday during the day would be fine as I didn't want to interfere with their bow hunting.
It's OK though as I just changed my mind where it's going, was going to be under overhead cabinets by wall but the dro just barely clears so yesterday I redid my center island to hold it. There is somethings I see that need some work like rough edges in bed, and play in one of the wheels but you have to expect these minor things. Hopefully all works.
It was about $80 cheaper direct from China vsvthe LA distributor, but if instock in LA, I would order from there for less aggravation.

That's just a small piece of it. The shop is 26'x40' with infloor heat. I may be putting in one of those DIY air conditioner units. I think I've changed my mind again as to where this lathe sits. We were at Home Depot today looking for a latch for our patio door and on the way out we looked at this big rolling tool chest with a wood top, I really liked it and if I took the wheels off and dropped it down a bit it would match right up to that center bench in length, 62" and height and give me tons of storage right under the lathe. So I looked on line when we got home to see if there were any deals coming and they have a hundred bucks off if you get gray instead of black by ordering online but you have to wait one to two weeks. I'll wait to save a hundred bucks. So instead of waiting, I'm going to still have my friends come over Saturday to help get the lathe up on the center bench and when I get the new tool chest set up, I can slide it over.Nice shop! I’d love to have 1/2 of that space!! Looking forward to your review!!!
The crate was 281 lb and what you see left on the floor is about 250.I figure its a couple hundred lbs. Still thinking about picking one up.Luckily I have a hoist that i put up in the rafters above my garage
