The 10-Ball set last night was an absolute thriller.

Tony Chohan built a 4- to 5-game lead several times throughout the match, but Gabe Martinez refused to go away, battling back every time.

Just when it looked like it was over, Tony reached the hill first at 24-19.
Gabe dug in once again, winning four straight games to make it 24-23 and put all the pressure on Tony.

After Gabe came up dry on the break, Tony delivered a clutch runout to seal the set 25-23.

What a match!

I think what he meant was Gabe was winning games by such a large margin the spot wasn't playing into the equation. Which is impossible to gauge, Gabe won fairly easily 9-4, but the spot definitely played into the equation, if Tony wasn't spotting a ball and going to 9 it totally changes the dynamic of the game. Good playing by Gabe to come back and break even on the match versus losing, the 10-ball was a fun sweat, too bad the one pocket wasn't more competitive to watch.

Yeah, that's what I meant, guess I said it wrong. First few games I didn't think Tony looked like a one pocket specialist. Seemed to be giving Gabe a lot of looks at his hole.
I think maybe the toughness of the table made Tony's one pocket skills a little less of a factor while it made Gabes shot making more of one.

It may not look like it but the spot was in play. Who do you like playing even? If you say Gabe you got action. Knowing you have a 3 ball spot is HUGE mentally.

I only said that about the first few games because Gabe won them by a large margin. I do think Tony gave him opportunities he wouldn't have given on a more forgiving table. He'd go for the run as he does and miss a shot I wouldn't expect him to miss etc.
