It does. They are bigger or smaller. That's geometry.Pocket size doesn't change geometry.
That’s the issue..it’s so simple to say ok the eye test says thats a soft break so you get a warning and now we monitor your speed for the rest of the match if gots below a certain number it’s a foul. So I agree the rule is to erroneous and can easily be fixed with an app we all have on our phone.
“All Players will be required to use a forceful break when participating in World Nineball Tour events.”
“The determination of a forceful break will be at the discretion of the officials at the tournament.”
It states that no soft breaks are allowed at the discretion of the ref, a warning will be given and then a foul if it continuesDo the WNT rules state that the cue ball must be traveling at a minimum speed, or what? Very curious.
The thing that I do not understand is that, if they get a certain amount of balls up table, as the rules require, then why can it still be considered a Soft Break? I mean, if they are breaking hard enough to get a certain amount of balls up table, past the side pocket, or whatever the rule requires, then calling a Soft Break (foul) on them should not be possible. I really do not know about that rule though, but if there is one, then that should be all that is needed.
What a ridiculous stance. We don't argue with the ref, even when they are wrong. Just how it is, and how it should be.
How's it a ridiculous stance? Watch any sport worth watching... Rugby, Cricket, Snooker... Guess what happens when you argue with the ref... you're ejected, and everyone on and off the pitch (or table) thinks you're a poor sports person and an idiot. What a ridiculous stance.
At carom, the player is allowed to ask the ref to reconsider his call one time, but it's not an argument or a discussion.... We don't argue with the ref, even when they are wrong. ...
In my head I am imagining that It's a bit like asking the umpire if the batsman is out while playing cricket? Is that a good comparison do you think? That the player can make an inquiry, to which the umpire makes their subjective opinion known on the facts available. Nobody argues with the decision once made.At carom, the player is allowed to ask the ref to reconsider his call one time, but it's not an argument or a discussion.
Don't need a speed gun, a microphone on the light tied into a breakspeed app and they can know the breakspeed on every break. Have a minimum break speed of 16mph, no problems.well, here we agree. they should have a speed gun.
