Twenty years ago, people argued about the merits of pre-flag vs post-flag Masters chalk. Some claimed the pre-flag stuff was better quality than the post-flag chalk.

Masters said it was the same chalk; only the label changed.

Beyond that, I asked Skip Nemecek, Tweeten's President, about the flag. He said that Tweeten was making Masters with and without the flag on the wrapper at the same time. I think "pre-flag" is not a useful idea.

You have to realize there is a small amount of unobtainium in the preflag stuff that isn't in the stuff with the flag.

I didn't believe for a minute that the gross of flag master I bought was as good as the preflag but sometimes you have to make do!
