Yup. Gorst was successful on all 9 of his breaks and won 7 of those games. Kazakis had 2 breaks that were wet but illegal, and Gorst ran out both of those games from the illegal break. Kazakis also had 2 other breaks that were illegal; they were both also dry. Both players had 3 break-and-run games. Kazakis' only missed shots were a bank and a long jump shot (on which he scratched), whereas Gorst missed 4 times. No fouls for either player other than the Kazakis jump shot. Gorst won 5 of the 7 games that involved safety play.

Yeah well, his decision making isn't exactly chopped liver. Name 3 players better at it, cuz I can't. Actually, I'd say that on days his execution is subpar (it does happen occasionally) his decision making will let him prevail against all but the very best.
i don't know if it was the final or penultimate rack but he opted to shoot a difficult combo on the 9 and a carom on the 7 as a backup, instead of playing safe, missed but didn't leave much. my point is when he misses or messes up, he can eliminate the stroke from the equation. daniel maciol is the same way, it's never a breakdown in mechanics. whereas with someone like denis grabe or naoyuki oi, their mechanics are more prone to fail during high pressure
