Spin Rate Factor (SRF) is the ratio of ball revolutions to the number of ball circumferences traveled. A perfectly rolling ball will rotate exactly once per circumference traveled, and is 1.0 / 1.0 which is 1.0. SRF is a useful parameter to measure the spin quality of a shot independent of shot speed. In this video I show how draw shot action can vary in quality.

Wouldn't that be SRF? I mean unless you're playing out in the sun...

What does it measure on a jump shot or masse?

How did pool ever get by without this? Seriously, is any of this data going to make anyone play better?
It can help people learn. It won't magically make them better, but it will improve the learning feedback cycle.

If you don't believe in practicing at all (which most of us find value in) then it also provides for an overlay of where a player hit a ball during a live feed, as well as some other stuff including ball proximity sensing, stat generation, etc.

If you don't like watching videos, then it can be used as an automatic shot clock.

If you don't like automatic shot clocks, then you can buy it to help support my son's future college education.

If you don't like children, future education, shot clocks, pool videos, or practicing pool, then maybe it isn't for you, and you may pass.

Does SRF determine the angle of rotation?

No.

SRF is a dimensionless number. It is expressed as a percentage of the natural roll rate of the ball.
Yes, I get that - wondering if the percentage of natural roll also determines (creates) the angle of rotation. Seems to me that it might (not that it's anything more than an interesting question).

Oh, now I think I understand your question. It wouldn’t immediately but the evolution of the flattening of the axis of rotation might be affected.
