2026 WPA Predator Men's World 10 Ball Saigon

Happy for Pia. Shi is a strong player and if she gets more 9b experience she won’t make the mistakes she made here that cost her the match.
 
Congrats to Pia, she fought hard and beat some strong opponents.

I'm guessing Shi didn't take it well since they kept her out of the footage.

She did it to herself to a large extent though, hopefully she learns from her mistakes and takes every shot seriously.

Shi completely blew it, Filler played well to come back but never should have had the chance. She looks disappointed during the ceremony but presumably she'll be back.

makes sense, playing safeties when your opponent don't have any soldiers left in 8-ball/heyball is much easier.

but a player like that will get there eventually. too good not to.

Yeah I'm impressed in spite of some bad decision making.

She was escaping safeties at will and coming close to even potting them. Plus she has a nice break and is very good at potting thin cut shots and playing multi rail position.

I'm looking forward to seeing all these ladies again in the World 9 Ball Championship 3 days from now.

I’ve seen it twice already (though can’t recall which matches), and I really haven’t been watching all that much.
BTW: Congrats to Pia. Those women can play!!. I sure wouldn’t want to butt heads with any of them.

True, but Pia came 10th in 2025 at the Derby City 9ball out of 500 players in the open division. She'd have had a top five but for a double hill loss to Atencio in about Round 12. Of course, she doesn't play anything like a top male pro, but she has taken down more than a few of the top men at times.

Cinderella stories are nice, and this year, women's pool has brought us Margaret Fefilova-Styer and Pia Filler prevailing over the usual suspects at the women's majors. The talent pool is growing in women's pool.

What's interesting is she and some other women play better against male opponents. Seen that more than once.
