Savannah “The RoadRunner” Easton using a wood shaft?

Does the shaft make decisions for you players?

The material that a shaft is made out of is not going to have that big of an impact on a individuals game.

No more than a method of manufacturing like forged vs cast in golf.

Soak up all the knowledge that you can & put in the time. This will help you play better, not the equipment.

What scientific tests prove cf shafts deflect less than say a z3? Does the diameter matter?

Sponsorship is why most pro play with whatever they are playing with, often they have them modified also.

Why would power matter? If anything the break has gotten slower over time. And more power only matters if you can control it.
More power on a non break shot is confusing. How often would an extra power be needed over a conventional shaft? Never. Especially when 99% of amateur pool is contested on a 7 foot table.
Does every cf shaft of the same make and model really play the same? Is there a way to prove that?
No, all CF shafts do not play the same, no shaft can ADD power but a shaft can ROB power from YOUR stroke, the better YOUR stroke the better the results will be, it's been clearly established that front end mass is the biggest cause of cueball deflection, all high quality CF shafts build their shafts to take advantage of this, there are other factors that go into designing a CF shaft that you can research if you wish, CF really works for me, if wood is better for you then that's what you should use, whatever helps you play YOUR best is what you should use, there is proof that MOST CF shafts transfer the power from YOUR stroke more efficiently than MOST wood shafts, you can find some wood shafts that have the same ability to transfer power as efficiently but wood changes, CF does not, they use CF on the space shuttle because it has the ability to go down to absolute zero which is -476 degrees Fahrenheit and withstand re-entry into our atmosphere at about 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, CF is used in bicycles, Tennis racquets, golf clubs, fishing rods, and many other uses, as I said it works for me, I swore I would never use a CF shaft, I didn't lie, I use a complete CF cue, best playing cue I've ever owned......

other than some deflection, which only comes from having less weight up front. the big thing that a carbon fibre cue differs from a wood one, will be when you take one out in a thunderstorm.

people will justify everything to want to emulate their idols.

we even had a thread on svb and his shoes. like that matters. so now its about shafts. like that matters.

For some shoes matter. I am leaving for France in a few days. I bought some very good shoes last year in Germany. I will be kicking croissants out of my way as I walk. Hopefully straight as an arrow with little English or French.

There are some instances where a change in your equipment can help your game, if you have a slow speed of stroke like I do, adding weight to your cue will add power to your stroke, it helped with my draw and follow,.

adding weight to your cue with the exact same speed stroke will certainly add a marginal amount of cue ball speed.

actually deducting weight will help you add speed to your stroke and a small amount of weight reduction will give more of the speed than adding weight and also lighter cues tend to be more controllable for most.

adding more or a little wrist will speed up as well. and is imperative for long cueball runs especially in a pool room.
