Bad home table

We all know of your character Jay. You've proven yourself time and time again to be the class act you are.
In my case, I didn't want the notariety. Due to certain spectrum issues, I shunned it. I did learn invaluable lessons tho. I use these every day and like you, I'm the man I am today bcuz of it.
Fame wasn't something I wanted. Quite the opposite in fact. I thot of myself as the giant killer.
If you were a player back then, you commanded respect. You could walk in anywhere and quickly establish your dominance. We were the Studs. The bad boys on the block. Society frowned upon us. Mother's hated us.
The trendsetters, the alphas. Every guy wanted to be like us. Every girl wanted a boyfriend like us. For the most part.😉 We were free to do as we wished at a time when societal norms restricted those freedoms on most people. That's what I found to be most liberating.
I also tried to stay low key but it wasn't possible in the pool rooms. Everybody knew the nickname Toupee Jay and they had me built up to be a strong player, which I was not. The real.players spotted me the seven or a couple of balls in One Pocket.

On the second cue Ernie made for me I had him leave my name off. In the bars I never carried my cue. I always played off the wall with a house cue. I looked for one with a good tip and the lighter the better, often playing with a 15 or 16. My name meant nothing in a bar.

I must have played in over 100 topless bars. They almost all had a bar table or two and guys who wanted to show off for the girls. Great for me! I actually had guys who couldn't make three balls in a row keep raising the bet. They wanted to act like big shots. I used to call them (in private) pool imposters. If you got their nose open they would play and play until they won a game, and then celebrate their victory.

I wasn't looking to hook up with any of the bar girls but I won't lie and say I never did. I had girls lead me into the restroom and take advantage of me. LOL!!

I beg to differ on the part about you being lazy Jay.
I've had the opportunity to observe you from afar and you're the epitome of hard work and dedication to what you believe. Can't hide passion like that my friend. It shines thru, nmw.
I took it seriously when I was hired to direct a tournament. I felt a sense of resonsibility.
