Pay Pal is a Piece of Crap

Pay Pal only offers buyer protection if the seller refunds the money to them. I've used pay pal for 20 years now i'm done. Pay Pal is owned by ebay, which is in bankruptcy .. I'm not sure any other pay service offer fraud protection, hopefully my credit card company will
Paypal is no longer owned by eBay, its a stand-alone co. since '15. Also, eBay is not in bankruptcy. Did you buy something with Friends-n-Family? You are protected if you use Goods-n-Services. Paypal's buyer protection coverage is clearly covered on their site. https://www.paypal.com/us/legalhub/paypal/buyer-protection

I thought terms of paypal are such that it can put in or take funds in accordance with its policies and determinations...so it wouldn't be "if" the seller returns funds, moreso "when PayPal recovers" the funds.

I guess if the seller account is insufficient to recover 100%...well that would influence the return of the funds.

Ive worked with some recovery units and they generally dont pay before they recover.

eBay/paypal has been a poop show for years. There really hasn't been much protection for sellers ever. The only protection i can think of is if they say they didn't get the item but it's marked as delivered. And that protection does not cover much the protection only covers it being delivered to the town that the item was in.

item not delivered or item significantly not as described are the two main reasons you can file. its all clearly covered in that link i posted. If the OP used F&F he's just shit out of luck.

did a lil dig and apparently if Paypal's investigation comes out in your favor they can pay out even before they are made whole themselves.

I quit using Paypal last year. There are several better pay services available now.

Evidence? I've been using it since 2005. Never had an issue, nor has my wife who uses it weekly.
i've used pay pal for over 20 years and never had an issue until now. i know Ebay is on the verge of bankruptcy , so maybe this explains the changes , they own pay pal. This was a purchase thru Ali express, which goes thru 2 other companies, so maybe this is the issue. Pay pal has told me time and time again the closed this claim in my favor, however they now say they can't resolve it until the seller pays the refund.

For example if you get paid in a foreign currency and have an account in that currency, Paynotyourpal won't transfer the money to your account but you need to convert it to your countrys currency first by THEIR shitty exchange rates.

Thievery.

wtf???? Ebay doesn't own them nor are they on the verge of bankruptcy. A major stock checker has their chance of bankrupt at around 7% in the coming 24mos. They aren't folding anytime soon. I've bought a few things from Ali and Temu, used Paypal everytime, and had zero issues.

Ebay is doing fine, $3B in operating cash flow in the last year and trading at an all-time high. If they're filing for bankruptcy soon - you're welcome to short the stock and back up the brinks truck full of cash you make on it.

None of us are happy about what's happening to you.

Do you think your the first to be in situation you're in? You're not.

Over 20yrs use and no problems should speak to the integrity of the process.

If you haven't been paid then it hasn't been resolved. I don't think we're hearing all of this. Did you read the Dispute Resolution section? You haven't been paid because apparently the process is: A. Ongoing or B. You lost.

The process has been ongoing for 3 ,moths now and they don't show anything in my profile just that a case has been filed. Everytime i call them i get a different answer. The first person i talked too said they would send me a mailing label to resend what the seller sent. The next person 2 weeks later said , i would have a decision on the 15th, i called on the 15th and was told the case was closed in my favor and i will receive and email and the money in 5 business days. None of this ever happened. today the guy i talked too said that they will have an answer by the 25th and would only do the refund if seller refunded the money.

I have not received emails or updates in my pay pal account sor email since i first filed , these people in the Philippines only know what they read in the computer in front of them, they lie to get you off of the phone

It may have something to do with dealing with China
