How Can I Make My Pool Table Cloth Play Like It's Worn? 😂

Everyone is invited to play on my table, as matter of fact, everyone is required to put at least 20 hours per week of playing :ROFLMAO:, you can do jump, break, maase shots whatever you want, as long as it won't rip the cloth off lol

It’s funny.. I’ve had my diamond now for over 3 years and play on it 5 or 6 days a week depending on if I have leagues or a tournament. I clean it every week but I really don’t want to get it recovered. Its wear is more like what I play on so I like it the way it is.
Yup if you know you know

Well how much chalk do you have? Get about a dozen cubes. smash it up to it is a powder. Put it in a baby powder bottle. Squeeze it out all over the table and rails. Use a table brush and brush the table and rails good to even out the chalk dust. That should do it pretty quick or you could use a cleaning brush with stiff nylon bristles that way it will nap the fibers up some.
Finally someone took it seriously, I may try this, I have a lot of master chalks that I don't use anymore :p, thank you.

No problem, it should definitely add some friction. You can always vacuum some up if needed. If you go over the table with a nylon bristled brush just dont use much pressure to raise the fibers.

Then, take a moist towel and rub down the entire table, really hard.

Should get you going in the right direction :)

Wouldn’t obtaining a really nasty set of abused, old, rough-surfaced balls approximate new cloth, be easy to do, and cost-effective?

Hello APA players and Fargo 600+,

I have a GC3 pool table, but I only play about 1 - 2 hours per week, yes that's right!

The new cloth and rails (new rubber/cushion) were installed two years ago, and they still look and feel practically brand new. I keep the table covered all the time.

The balls slide really fast, and the rails don't seem to grab English as well as the tables at my local pool hall with well-worn cloth.

Is there anything I can do to make my table play more like a well-used pool hall table? Any tricks to wear the cloth out without actually playing on it? LOL.

I swear, next time I change my cloth, or when a pool hall replaces theirs, I'm going to ask if I can take their worn cloth and pay for new cloth for them. 😂

I'm looking for ways to slow the balls down a little and get better action off the rails. Any suggestions?

Enjoy it while it lasts

Quickest way to get your table playing like a normal pool hall or bar table.

Add dirt and debris to the cloth, and NEVER clean the balls. Ever!!

Hire a hacker to redo the cloth. Light stretching, wrinkles, etc. Load the table up with chalk dust.

Get a cue ball you don't care about. Rub it with #300 sandpaper.

Do you use wax or silicone on the balls?
It's funny, when I used to play a lot but bar pool I never cleaned my table or the balls. I also practiced with the big bar ball. In those days the bar tables were terrible, stained cloth and so on.
