Phillipines Open

I watched extended highlights of the Jayson Shaw v Fedor Gorst match and they were both unbelievably erratic. Jayson looked at his best for the first half of the match and probably should have won comfortably. But around the middle of the match he started missing balls he never would normally, seemed to lose a bit of confidence and let Fedor back into the match. Gorst also missed a lot of shots you really wouldn't expect him to, whilst displaying his normal amazing proficiency with the jump cue. Saw someone comment on Gorsts facebook page that with all the misses it wasn't the Fedor they knew, and Fedor just replied "you don't know me at all" which made me laugh. Must be annoying being in the public eye and everyone piles on when you have a bad day.

Really enjoyed this shot by Jayson when he had to make a bank shot in a split second after realising he didn't have an extension

I hadn't heard of the player that beat SVB before. Is that my ignorance or is he fairly unknown?
Jason Shaw has been looking kind of erratic for months compared to the high he was on.. but thats the up and down of pool. It’s what makes svb’s long run amazing.

How cool is that when local players can catch a gear and take down world champions. Congrats to Baseth Mocaibat and Bernie Regalario for reaching the semifinals. And the scores of Regalario's matches against world class players, being Alcaide (10-2) and Sanchez Ruiz (10-1).

I tried to explain this on here days ago. There are literally dozens of Pinoy players like these guys (Chua excluded) who are not that well known internationally and play like solid 800 shooters.

There is Fargo and there is acquired reputation there. If someone is Tier One in the PI you better beware. They are world class players, high Fargo or not. Tier Two is still a very good player, maybe the equivalent of 775-800.

Thorsten makes my blood boil.

He ruined the chances of watching Sky and Bergman playing doubles at Mosconi Cup.
Haha I too would like to have seen Sky and Bergman play doubles like they used to a decade ago. But Sky and Berg ruined their own chances by sucking at tournaments when they needed to be clutch. They should be embarrassed that Thorsten made more than both of them combined. If they both couldn't even get close to out earning Thorsten together they don't deserve the free $20k. Or maybe they offer Thorsten the $20k to not participate and they play to win the remaining $20k prize.

Wasn’t going to stay up, but Chua was playing. My favorite player. Only Filler, in my opinion, is better when all top pros play at the top of their game.

Next-level performance. Chua fell behind 2-0 to Bernie Regalario, then reeled off 10 straight. I don’t think Bernie had another shot after either 3-2 or 4-2. Chua wins 10-2 to get to the final.
