Phillipines Open

Starts tomorrow.

Huge implications for Mosconi Cup.

If Fedor doesn't finish higher than Thorsten then the German is an automatic pick for Team USA at the Mosconi.

And that would mean Johan would need to use a wild card on Fedor.
Team Europe vs Team Ex-Europe.

I hope Thorsten gets on the MC just to have some new (old? Old-new? New-old?) blood on the team. He'd be at least as good as any other option for the 4th/5th spots.

Interesting that Filler is not in this
I don't see why he would need to enter this. He is not scrambling for points and probably knows he's a lock for the team. The payout is only $20k for 1st as well. He made that at the Reyes Cup and will do the same at MC. He's big chillin.

It's some of the Americans that will potentially be on Team USA that HAS to be there.

P.S. - It's kinda badass to see 3 women on the top 10 AzB money leaderboard. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

bergman won his first match lopsided, but so did his next opponent arseni, the runner up from last year.

i haven't seen arseni play very well since he switched to krause cues though.

it's getting a bit crazy with yapp and the shafts and the weight bolts. it is possible to miss a shot without blaming the cue..

ronnie alcano went down this rabbit hole, even to the point where opponent asked him to stop changing shafts in his line of sight. alcano was obviously crazy in other ways too but i don't think it's sound to develop this equipment obsession

Earl Strickland was like that in his old fiberglass CueTec days, always changing shafts
