I refuse to watch Team USA get slaughtered again. Changing one single person on the team roster won't do shit. They need to swap out like 2-3 guys. It's a foregone conclusion we will get our ass whooped so why not throw in some new blood like LFV? He may rise to the occasion.

Bergman didn't do anything to earn his spot....and he is not on point.

We don't have anybody
...except a bunch of 780 players who will get murdered.

I spoke out of my own experience, not that I ever played at a pro level.

The first sign of my aging was getting glasses in my mid 40’s. That I overcame without to much angst.

The second and more serious issue, was developing tremors in my right arm in my mid 50’s. This had a noticeable impact and from that point on my game began to slide. Beta blockers helped (Propranolol) but there was no turning back the clock to my own best days.

In my 60’s it became very apparent to me that Father Time had come visiting and was not leaving anytime soon. It was a hard pill to swallow for me, so for guys like Thorsten and likely Keith it’s got to be even harder to admit the time has come.

So what’s a guy to do? For me it was find some new interests, accept the facts and enjoy those sweet memories.

Luckily Keith had you along for the ride and still does today. That right there is what I bet he’s happiest about!!!

Man the eyes are something.. I had one good eye so I played left eye dominant and it seemed over night that eye left the chat and I had to wear glasses when I was playing. It was quite and adjustment after over 25 years of playing without them

if he didn't play this year he won't be on the team in the future. he knows his 'A' game is not up to snuff and it won't get better in the future. class act all the way, its his call not anyone else's.

Getting older combined with overcoming all that comes with it is what defines us all.

I just got home from visiting my uncle. He turned 99 in August, still drives and lives alone in a waterfront home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts.

He’s been blind in one eye since childhood then had to have cataract surgery on his good eye.

Told me he was praying that all would go well. And it did.
He’s quite the character, to say the least!!

You’re only as old as you feel!!!

There's nothing better than being on a team that's supposed to lose and taking down the favorite.

And let's face it. Tom Brady winning the Super Bowl got boring. Tom Brady losing to a wild card in the Super Bowl was riveting.

I like the idea but the odds are another matter altogether …

I cannot wait to watch the daily 30 minute recap on YouTube though !

I'm taking Bergman in a big money match over any European not named Filler and FSR.

Bergman will deliver for Team USA. Have faith!
 
Friends here in the Middle Kingdom reckon it's a publicity and image dealio, pushed by Emily who sees it as bad for business. Too old, and another non-US native. I love watching things like this get discussed in online groups, or at the hall.
