Elk Master Tips

Do
In fairness to the gizmos, they do produce results.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for advancement and progress, I'm not some anti layered tip guru or some shit. Use what you like and what works best for you. All I do is provide a product for a small circle of players I know who don't see the need to spend that much money on a piece of leather for their cue.

You can ask the pros why they are using a different cue rather than using a standard house cue. If not, ask Earl about his numerous contraptions throughout the years.
In a word? Portability. It's hard to carry a house cue from pool room to pool room.

The ideal two-piece cue is indistinguishable from a great one-piece cue. That is, the joint should ideally have tactile transparency.

The old masters of cue building weren't trying to build a better cue than a one piece cue. The goal was a cue that played as well as a one piece cue and didn't need a snake coffin to tote it around in.

Says the expert player who never heard of Martinez...
no, but ive gambled with a handful of top pros and won the money each time. and have known quite a few more personally.
and played(gambled) with many that would have been high 600 to mid 700 players.

i dont think you can say that.

and some do blame their equipment to some extent , that is human nature. ive stupidly done it myself.

and you, hello, have the attack the person that doesn't agree with you syndrome. not a good way to go.

There are times that blaming the equipment is valid, for most times it was just nature of making an excuse for losing. Also, I got terribly sick a few weeks ago and was playing miserable! 😆

So, you gambled and beat top pros and have never heard of Martinez..?

yea i only gamble, and do play a boring game to watch me. but am very entertaining while i play, and i get to buy expensive toys and houses. so it must not be too bad of a way to go.

centerline of cue ball you don't ever miscue, or get too far out of line. and control your position with speed rather than spin.

still some shots need spin, but rarely more than one tip.

its more fun to drive a corvette but a toyota gets you there more reliably.
Would you mind sharing some footage of your play that won you all these prizes..?

Let me guess...you won't say who those pros are..?;)

Hate to say it, but a player who normally hands me my ass got sick and made the mistake of trying to play that way, I took advantage. Not above using whatever means are at my disposal, within reason of course, when gambling, in order to bring home the bacon.

We can be stubborn or just loved to play regardless. I was still recovering when I went out to play. I thought I could wing it but to no avail. Called it quits and went home after a few matches when I couldnt even string 4 balls even at the easiest of shots. I felt worse on the way home. Never again doing that.

Kudos for sticking it out, but you're prolly better off waiting until you feel better. I've never been one to force it. Results were always in the minus column.

Many years ago Elk Master, Le Pro, and Champion tips
were the favorite for pool players. Do any/many players use original
Elk Masters now? Elk Masters compressed?
No. Predator Victory or Kamui Brown Medium. I also don't mind the tip Meucci puts on their shafts.

Agree. Im doing better now but still far from my normal speed. For some reason, I've been playing conservatively lately than my usual aggressive style. Like I'm tentative to take shots and been missing quite a lot. Not sure if thats the result of colds/flu. Although Im getting my confidence back slowly. Back to topic, I haven't used my milk dud shaft for awhile since the shaft has a warp wobble on it. I'm using the Ultraskin Ivory Soft on a hybrid shaft. Im still getting used to the shaft though before totally getting accustomed to it a 💯 percent.

I hear people say those are a decent tip for the price.
