How come people don't use cue sleeves instead of gloves

I am not a glove wearer, but i see the bitching all the time about glove design, fit, finger tips or not etc. I've seen a few players use sleeves instead of a glove. I am just wondering why they are not more common. It just makes more sense to me to use them.

I tried a variety of home made sleeves in the 80/90s. Chalk gets in 'em. Period. Same with gloves. I keep my hands and shaft clean and dry and siliconed, instead.

Why not use both? I kid, of course. Use what works for you.

My take on it would be that a glove would be a little more versatile if you don't shoot with a closed bridge consistently. That is based on the handful of racks I played with a sleeve.

I play a lot of pool in Central Texas, and humidity here sometimes necessitates a glove even though I don't like them very much. I've only seen 2 or 3 people around here use a sleeve, but I'd guess 40% or more of the players I see use gloves. One using a sleeve was a pro during the latest Texas Open.

Predator and McDermott make excellent gloves, I’ve been wearing them for years with no issues

I got curious and tried one from the drill instructor. It was too tight even on an 12mm pro taper shaft. You could make a 4" bridge or less and it worked, anything else and it bound up.
