    Mike Sigel's American Billiard League

Why did this attempt at a new league fail the first few times?

Are we all playing with the same leather (layered / solid) tip after 4-6 months?

If I'm running out well, I'll keep a tip for years LOL. If I start dogging it, I might replace tip, shaft....or entire cue.

    The Gambling Process

I enjoyed Billy Walter's book. I also enjoyed Artie's posts on ONE POCKET ORG. I always wondered if they were friendly or not due to the similarity of their professions and experiences.

    The Gambling Process

Money won is sweeter than money earned. I can remember being a high school age kid in the early 90s and going in with my friend Billy on a pool match at Snookers in Antioch, TN. Snookers closed down for years and recently came back. I went buy for a visit in the last couple of years, but it...

Yeah, we are pool players - not literary critics. We just want the down and dirty story. Get those books out!

    Best Playing Cue Builder

If I'm understanding the topic without wading through 12 pages of posts......I'd say Rick Howards is one of the best cuebuilder/players I ever saw. Even saw him matching up on the stream this last Derby and hitting 'em good for a 70+ year old man. Appeared to be in great shape.

    About Grady Mathews

I have a personally autographed copy. It's a great book for being written by a Professional Pool Player. Lots of great pool stories, and definitely Spicey as well. Grady was an American original. Did you ever read Buddy's biograph written by W.W. Woody.....whewww....that one is a doozy. I...

    About Grady Mathews

The first real professional pool match I saw was the 89 Brunswick Open Finals between NICK and GRADY. Wow...what an exciting match. And they made it to the hill. Grady could REALLY play ALL games at a world class level when he was focused. True legend. I highly recommend checking it out on...

No new Cues Til Things Straighten Out

Not sure what era COM cue you're referring to, but JOSS has always been a quality cue. I have hit with quite a few modern JOSS cues and I think they are great - whether entry level or Color of Money, they play great IMO.

    I Want A New Cue

I had a beautiful Tim Scruggs Ebony and Ivory box cue that Gary Nolan (Bushwhacker) RIP traded me for a gorgeous Southwest I owned around 2006. Always a nice design combination but I've never kept one as a daily player. I always find some inexpensive cue that seems to outplay the monsters.

No new Cues Til Things Straighten Out

Great idea. The new JOSS cues are exceptionally high quality, have nice tapers, and play fantastic IMO.

    I really like it!

So, I did a little bit more cue trading this week, as one is prone to do, or, at least, as "I" am prone to do, and ended up with a brand new Meucci Economy Cure (what a name) Model cue with carbon fiber shaft.I really like this cue a lot. First, I like the Economy Cure design. It comes in...

No new Cues Til Things Straighten Out

I was a kid when TCOM came out. In fact, I remember being with my dad AT the pool room, when a commercial for TCOM came over the t.v. Wow...time flies. My kid is out of the house now. I've retired once. And I like to buy cues.

Journey to join the Pro tournaments ?

Then they'll say. "Wow, you've never seen me play - you must be really good. I need a big spot." (21st century pool)

Journey to join the Pro tournaments ?

Go into the pool room, approach the first person you see playing pool and ask "want to play some?". It's that easy.
