Yes it is, and no it isn't. (I voted no.) In general terms, it could be considered offensive. In your specific case, where it's a nickname you've embraced and had for a very long time, and it's not intended in a negative way, of course it isn't. I think your idea is cool.

I play on two league teams. We have team shirts. We don't wear them every week, most of us, but when we go to a tournament, most of us do. They don't bother me.
