Do you ever lay down for fun?

Perhaps if you would have told her before the game that you were a good player and asked her if she wanted a handicap, she wouldn't have been mad had she accepted or turned it down. At my local hangout, everyone sees it as a challenge to play against me because it is a small town and everyone...

Cue ball and object ball touching (frozen) rule change?

How about something like this... Something like this may help to make everyone happy... 3.23 FOULS BY DOUBLE HITS If the cue stick strikes the cue ball more than once on a shot, or if the cue stick is in contact with the cue ball when or after the cue ball contacts an object ball, the shot is...

Cue ball and object ball touching (frozen) rule change?

I've gotten in major arguments over this rule. It seems that (at least in my town) the "old school" people think that it is a push shot, even after I showed them the rule book. Maybe you could re-write the rule so that it is much more obvious to understand. Vinnie

    denatured alcohol help

I discovered this myself after getting a new cue. My new cue is 60-1/4in long. I am 5'-10". My bridge just naturally became longer after getting used to the new cue. Now watch Efren on youtube. Notice how long his cue is compared to his height? His cue goes from the floor to near ear level. Vinnie

    production or not

Do what I did... find your LOCAL cue maker. Just ask around and people will tell you if there is a local maker. I have a guy in Moses Lake, Mel Turner, that produced an excellent cue for me and it was under $400. He does great quality work and the price is low because he is not "famous". I think...

    production or not

I agree. The more people involved in the production, the more it becomes an "assembly line". The problem with assembly line production is that it is MUCH harder to control quality. Vinnie

    Which rules don't you like?

Sorry I was not specific, but I was really referring to league and tournament play when the tables are "opened up". I play in a league and in tournaments where we play by BCA rules EXCEPT the 8-ball on the break rule. I like your idea about calling every shot. If someone can call the 8-ball on...

    My Custom Playing Cue

That is the actual birds-eye, no stain. The price does include the shaft. At the time, I purchased the partial OB-1 for $146. Mel gave me a great deal. Vinnie

    My Custom Playing Cue

No web site yet. He is a local cue maker in Moses Lake, WA. I think he builds 3-5 cues a year. Vinnie

    Which rules don't you like?

In 8-Ball matches, I hate the 8-Ball-on-the-break-wins rule. There is too much chance involved with making the 8 on the break. I think it is more fair to spot the 8 and continue. Vinnie ------------------ RSB transplant
