    Where are our JOSS experts?

I found these pics on my drive but no date or record of where I got them. Your cue model is pictured. I have that jump cue and got it in 1991 or 1992. So I am thinking your cue may be a later model "gold letter" in the early 90's. EDIT: I just found where I got those pictures from...

    Where are our JOSS experts?

Mid to late 80s, Early 90s I am guessing. I have looked through what resources I have, no luck yet. I would definitely contact Joss. I'm still looking though. Every time a Joss comes up I wish I had saved their entire archive. Lesson learned. I am working on saving others like Meucci...

It's getting closer! Why do I think it's still possible it could end up in Montana or something? 🤪

so i’ve decided to make cues

Balabushka and Rich, and I am sure many others, used wood lathes. I have at least several old cues with marks on the ends from wood lathes. Proper snooker cues are made by planing, not on a lathe. There is always more than one way to skin a cat. And sometimes older or more basic ways just...

The specs are probably on a sticker on the cue, or on a tag. A picture of that would suffice for a sale. But if the plastic sleeve is still sealed I wouldn't break the seal. As a collectable it could use value. Some will want the cue to try it out, some will squirrel it away in a collection...

    What do I have here?

If it survived in good shape, and you like it, it's special.

    What do I have here?

There isn't likely anything under the bumper of interest. And you could break the screw off if it's stuck. I would just enjoy it. I have one like that with a wrap that is 60 inches. I think I got it for 8 bucks at a second hand shop.

Could be Rich or Mali on first glance. Lots of these around.

Well, you're just asking about it, so yes, it's fine here. There is a For Sale forum here. As a new member people will be wary of scams. And you have to post a price. You can accept offers. Pretty much the same anywhere. As was stated earlier you should check the Facebook Group.

2,200? I guess that's possible. Sales over the last couple years look like they are running in the $1,200 to $1,700 range. They were under $500 new. Your new condition should give strong value. Whether or not you have the laminated shaft will matter too. The laminated shaft brings more value.

Sorry for your loss. You're in a good place here. The cues has some collectable value, especially if brand new with packaging.

Thanks. Fever, chills, brutal muscle pain. Shaking like a chihuahua...or like ICE knocked on my door. LOL! Went to play pool with daughter yesterday, then saw 28 Years Later. I was fine. Now I feel like I got hit by a truck. I'll check on the cue later.

I know w hat you are saying. It's a sad Shane. You think somehow you are challenging me. Never occurred to you you can't understand because of Dunning Kruger. You aren't informing anyone of anything real.

It's multifactorial, but at every step the people, individuals, are responsible.

I am sorry to know that so many people don't take personal responsibility. Most would benefit from a mirror rather than pointing a finger. None of this correlates with any Presidency or political administration. It has been a slow spiral regardless of that.

    Cork wrap opinion?

I would suggest that the old Penn linen is a superior option as well, if you can find it. Finding Cortland can be done. Whether or not someone, a cue maker, is willing to sell/install it is another matter. I remember a story a while back where a prominent maker told someone (implied?) he had...

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

I have zero experience with CF shafts. I predict it would play exactly how that shaft plays. My Scruggs shafts and Stroud shafts play the same on a Chinese made cue, or Dufferin cues, as they do on any of my Joss cues. The hit might feel slightly different, but the shafts play identical.
