    Gold crowns 4

Quick question, since I'm buying a new table in a month or so... Is it best to position the table on carpet or a harder surface floor? The location I'll be installing my table will be in the basement where long plush carpet exists. I'll replace the carpet if I have to. Ideas?

Buying a pool table, what do you recommend?

My wife and I are moving into our new home in the next few weeks. I want to surprise her with a beautiful 4.5 x 9 foot table. Price range about $3,000.00 to $6,000.00 --- If you own or work for a company that sells tables within that price range or dimensions, please reply.

    open vs. closed bridge

I'll have to agree with JimS on this one... I learnt how to play from a snooker player hence why most of my shots are done with an open bridge. However, from time to time, I find myself doing the closed bridge on some shots that I normally would use the open bridge. I've been playing for...

"4 Women + 1 Guy Team" Place 1st in an All Men's AA Division!

Thanks WillieBetMore! It has been a fantastic year so far. Our division is trimming down to only 6 teams from the original 12, so the competition will be a little more fierce for the 2nd half of the season. I'll keep ya posted on our progress. Oh yeah, about 1 month ago, my team of women and...

    How do you practice playing???

When asked, I usually tell people to practice "practicing" and they usually end up looking at me with a raised eyebrow wondering w.t.f.? "It's simple really." I say... All you have to do when practicing is be aware of *everything* your are doing. After many hours of practicing with *awareness*...

    What have I become?

I'd like to tackle this one If I may :) 2 years after I started playing pool, I became too "involved" with the game. I would get a sickening feeling when playing people of a lower skill level. My attitude was going to shit as my skill level increased. I was only 19 at the time, but I got my...

    another aiming system thread.......

I'm a strong practioner of the Ghost Ball system when I start training. I then rely on instinct after the 1st week. Upclose shots (Less than 1 inch) I simply find both contact points on object ball and cueball, and make sure (darn sure) that they connect. I'll miss those shots 1 in 20.

    Canuck Pool Players

I lived in London for 8 months (45 min west of T.O.) and travelled to the big city quite often for weekends. However I'm still destined to build igloos up here ;-) I'm patenting heated slates (To prevent ice formation on cloth).

    HELP! I've got a dilemma

I recommend taking the lessons from your Idol. The time you spend learning at this junction in your pool career will be worth hundreds, if not thousands in future events (not to mention the friendship-time you'll miss out on if you don't do it.) But in all reality, it really falls back on you...
