    Chohan V Orcollo October 5 –8

If the only reason you are watching is for the entertainment value and not to learn something, then you really need to get out of the house and do something. P.S.- Don't try taking up fishing. ;)

Record For 9-Ball Racks Run, But.....

You have two parts, a winner and a loser. Which one you become depends on which one you feed. Shy, after all these years, are you still feeding the loser side of yourself? What makes you so fearful of feeding the winner side?

    Pre-shot "mental?" Routine

I play best when I use four. The first one is- "I'm here to kick ass and take names, and right now, your (player, not you Scott) name is top on the list." Without a strong desire to win, one is basically tossing dice.

    This happened tonight.

I have always ran it where the top players in the side pot got the cash. If you placed and didn't buy in, you were the same as not placing at all. In that case, it goes to the next lower player that did get in the pot. edit: Another way to look at is that it is a side pot. You are paying the...

    Peace proposal

Except, for the vast majority of shots, it is not just an inch or two. It will be obvious to anyone that has played a little. As far as rank beginners, they shouldn't be messing with any aiming system until they learn how to stroke the cue fairly straight anyways. No aiming system is going fix...

    League players vs just players

I understand what you are saying, but it is not totally true. For many, it works out the way you think it does. But, that is only because they aren't doing the drills the correct way. Part of the drills is also the mental exercise, the focus on the task at hand, the concentration, the will to...

    Peace proposal

And, as you have been told a number of times already, when learning a new system, forget what you think you know, and just follow the directions. There are a number of aiming systems that do not use contact points at all.

    Peace proposal

You are confused about the terminology because you don't know how to use CTE. Thick or thin s not a feel thing, where you just adjust a little. In CTE, once you get your initial two line visual, you simply look at the ob/cb relationship and determine from that if the pivot needs to go to the...

What are you going to do here

This is one of those times you need to shoot with "style". You jump the 8, and draw back off the 6 to make the 9. The 6 goes off the end rail, then side rail, then caroms off the 8 into the corner. The 8 banks off the short rail, side rail, and then into upper right corner. For the "style"...

That option leaves you feeling pretty chipper!

Call the hit: Me vs Ghost

Watching that video at 1/4 speed, you hit the three first. And the cb did hit the three twice. Good hit.

Call the hit: Me vs Ghost

That pic was also the closest I could get at 1/4 speed. This is one of those rare shots where the tangent lines off each ball put the cb going in the same direction. Which is what makes it so hard to tell the actual hit. Maybe someone can do a frame by frame look at it. (I forgot how to do...

Call the hit: Me vs Ghost

That is a tough one. It goes to the shooter.

Not to mention discounting 8 of Mosconi's wins.

    Harold Worst

Harold used to practice/play a lot with a man named George Ellis here in Grand Rapids, Mi. One day they were putting on an exhibition match at a cue club downtown. Race to 200 playing 14.1 Well, today seemed to be George's day, as he jumped out to a 150 to nothing lead with a 150 ball run...

    Don Willis

The way I heard it is that for a little over 40 racks, every time he got to the table he ran out. He didn't make a ball on the break every time though.

    Please Explain Your "Aiming System"?

There is nothing wrong about selecting a part of the pocket to aim at. I have often taught the same thing. The theory is, aim small-miss small. The game is about precision, including aiming. That said, in actual game time, you always give yourself the largest margin of error whenever possible...

    Please Explain Your "Aiming System"?

I totally agree with you here. I have always said it is just plain wrong to aim for the point of the pocket to hope you get safe if you miss. Aim for the center of the opening, and you won't miss so many, you double your margin of error.

    What is your PSR?

Half your problem is that you still think of aiming systems as some sort of magic to eliminate any work. They aren't, and the only ones claiming that they are, are the ones that don't want to put in the work to learn them and then claim they are bogus. If you want to idolize your instructor...

"Aiming Systems" are Junk, DO the Work!

Actually, it does just the opposite of proving your point. You are going by instinct to guess the correct spots on the ob. Whereas with an aiming system, such as CTE that gives you center pocket, it is very easy to then adjust to another part of the pocket if so desired. Much better to adjust...
