    Cutting inlay pockets

I've been doing some more playing with my CNC and thought I'd as for opinions. I've programmed to cut pockets for inlays in both clockwise (conventional milling) and counter-clockwise (climb milling). Visually, I can't see any difference in the quality of the cut. The other issue that I...

    Penny wise and dollar foolish

I thought that might be it too.... Hi Jim, thanks for you input! I've got the CNC ready Taig 2019 with ER16, Keling steppers, Gecko 540 controller and using Mach3. I use BobCAD V19 to create my designs and generate the Gcode. I've also got one of the Wolfgang Engineering TB350 spindles, but...

    Penny wise and dollar foolish

Well, after a number of months of interuptions, I finally got a chance to start working with my CNC mill. I purchased some bits from Precise Bits based on the things that I had read about them on the forum. In addition, I bought some "cheap" bits from a guy on eBay. I figured I could use the...

    Question about HF 7 X 10 Minilathe

Tool height Thanks for the input guys! I will be going with the 3/8" tooling. KJ, please don't take offense, but I do have to take exception with your statement about tool height. Ideally, the tool should be "exactly" on the centerline of the work. If your not on center, you are...

    Question about HF 7 X 10 Minilathe

I just purchased a Harbor Freight 7 X 10 Minilathe (Model 93212). I haven't purchased tooling yet and I'm confused. Nowhere in the manual does it state what size tooling to use, so I took a quick measurement from the base of the tool post to the centerline of the spindle. It looks to be 3/8"...

    Sniper tips

Haven't had a problem.... ...but I haven't purchased any for a while, so the ones I have are older. Occasionally I have lost the first 1 or 2 laminations, but I attribute that to not using a new (sharp) blade when shaping. As long as my blade is sharp, I don't have any problems.

Thanks! Thanks for the kind words! I would normally ask more for this cue, but since it's been played (by me), it is used. Not to mention the fact that it's a buyers market for cues these days. Let me know if your buddy is interested.

Amazing first effort! That's an amazing first cue! My first wasn't nearly as ambitious. Then again, I wasn't lucky enough to have someone as great a Tony Z. to give me support:( You're a lucky man!
