First cue, First post

I've been looking forward to this for a long time. I had my first cue just about done awhile back and on the final pass, the router jumped off the taper bar, through the forearm and gonzo! I'll try not to let that happen again. My first finished cue has a cored asian satinwood forearm, goncalo alves points and butt. The veneers and rings have .027" copper in the middle. I made two shafts with 12.75 mm tips and one snooker shaft with a 9.75mm tip. I was worried that after all this work I wouldn't like the way it hits, but I couldn't be happier. I've been shooting with it for the last few weeks and it has become my daily player. I have some other cues in the works and hope to have more finished up in the near future. Lastly, I need to give a huge "thank you" to local cue builder Tony Zinzola for all his support along the way. Thanks for looking.

Alex,

Congrats on your first cue and first post on AZ... welcome to the forum.

Tony told me about this cue and how nice it came out... I have to agree! That is a fine first effort for sure. Those elliptical veneers in the butt sleeve are very cool, and I love the brass veneers.

Keep up the GREAT work!

first cue

Beautiful job! The brass veneers are very cool. It has that old school classic look about it. Nice touch with the paper veneers also. I'm sure she plays great. Congrats!

Amazing first effort!

That's an amazing first cue! My first wasn't nearly as ambitious. Then again, I wasn't lucky enough to have someone as great a Tony Z. to give me support:( You're a lucky man!
