    Buying decision: spindle vs router

The 3.175mm is 1/8 inch, I'm assuming the 13mm is close enough for a 1/2 inch shank but a 1/4 inch shank would be 6.35mm. The price point is very good for that spindle, but for cuemaking I think 2.2K is overkill. I run a 1050 Kress on one of my machines and it has plenty of power, although on...

    Options for inlay work?

Dremels are notorious for having bad runout, or developing it. While they can certainly be used, the less runout, the tighter the inlay Alan.

Can the typical cue maker work with Paulownia or Balsa?

The only way to hit your 6 oz. parameter would be with a full balsa wood butt, which would probably crumple on the first hit. A fully cored balsa butt would likely come in around 9.5 oz. Alan

Mach 3 XP Com Port Address Question

Kim, After doing some research, I found that not all PCI parallel port cards are the same. Some seem to only put out 3.3V as opposed to the 5V needed to trigger most controllers for CNC. This one was a recommendation, so I have it on the way to see if Mach3 and my controller will like it...

Mach 3 XP Com Port Address Question

Joey, I tried the PCI card myself. Used the correct resources for Mach3 to see the card and could never get it to work. It seems that a built in LPT port is the way to go for Mach3 unless a smoothstepper arrangement is used. Alan.
