Thanks folks. I actually don't need to purchase just yet but have 2 x OB shafts with 5/16-14 threads and might consider purchasing a newer OB butt at some point in the future. I live in the UK and there are few American cue specialists over here - all snooker!

Is it possible to buy an adapter to enable shafts with a 5/16-14 joint to fit an alternative butt (e.g. with a 3/8-10 pin)? Thank you.
