You just found out why YOU NEVER FLIP A COIN ON THE TABLE.....I also found out the hard way.........There is really nothing you can do to fix a tear.......Preventive maintenance on your next cloth goes a long way.......G

Justin..........sounds to me like you have acrylic or plastic ..or glass shades on your light .....If so change the shades on the fixture to metal......Brass or chrome or black.........The light will ONLY go down to the table....not throughout the room ............also your fixture may be too...
