Hi all,

I just wanted to drop in a little report about the Bay State Invitational Tournament this past Sunday.

My wife and I went, and got there around 11 AM; Gary introduced himself and asked if I was a player:eek: . I told no just a spectator (I barley know how to hold a cue, but have nice equipment still the same:p ). The matches were quick (we stayed till around 5 PM), no one was fighting about the rack, and everyone looked good (professionaly dressed), and it seemed to be a fun time for the players.

I think it was a well run event, and found Gary to be very easy to talk with:D .

I don't know why the tournaments get such negative flack on the board but I think it's great when anyone steps up and runs events. Also the pay outs are pretty high I think, like $765, $380, $130, and $100 (free entry into the next event with only 16 players that's $1500 ($100 a player with the free entry from the last event), and he is paying out like $1375, so I think he is doing good by the player as well with only around $125 left for green fees and Gary. So I think he is doing good by the players:cool: .

I think some of the negative people should just go and watch. Then at least you can make an honest judgement about the event. I hope it grows so that it will be around when I am good enough to compete:eek:    .

Hello Pete.....Thank you for the kind words......I have just started a new thread in the Tournament Section.......Would really like to see you post your remarks on that thread.... Thanks alot for inviting anyone who "knocks" our efforts .....You are right ....They should come .....More important than that........They should get in our events......You should too...... Thanks again.....Gary; Tour Director

Anyone interested in seeing the results ...should go to our site...www.baystateinvitational.com

this thread is

a LOL.....I'm still uncertain why the main BSI thread was taken down in the tourny section.....I am assuming that someone's feathers were ruffled a little too much by the feedback that was brought to attention......I still have no respect for people who come on here and uptalk themsleves, while talking in third person.......I never once slammed the tour, nor would I.......theoneandonly is just one who states his own beliefs.......Hence that is what a message board is for.....I will just say I think it is a shame that the main BSI thread was taken down from the tourney section....I miss seeing people ask reasonable questions about the tour only to get wise cracks and nonsense answers from the promoter.....And to billiard pete, none of the negative people on here ever attacked the BSI tour....If the thread was still around you could take a peak and read the fine print....In life there are men, women, and cry babies....After infancy you get to chose your own path....

Jon James beats a player the caliber of Dave Fernandez and he is still a 7 in APA 9-ball. Somehow that doesn't compute. ... but that's another thread.

Actually, Jon James got bumped to a SL8 while out in Vegas. Also, don't forget that APA 9 ball is a totally different game than regular tournament 9-ball. Different skill sets required (to some extent).

Food for thought,
