Avoiding double hit on 'easy' shot

I think the short answer is that unless you are Houdini the only way to not double hit or push through is to hit away, i.e., hit the cue ball away from the ball it's touching or almost touching. This would include hitting the cue ball at such an angle to impart motion to the frozen object ball...

Avoiding double hit on 'easy' shot

I beg to differ; in many cases, it is. See the WPA rules, for example, and search for "intentional."

Avoiding double hit on 'easy' shot

"A fouette is a “whip shot” used when the cue ball and object ball are close together which makes it easy to keep spin on the cue ball. It is also used in ballet to describe “whipped turns” where the dancer whips their leg around performing a pirouette. These can be some of the most difficult...

Avoiding double hit on 'easy' shot

I have been thinking about this lately, too. It seems there are two hazards, a double hit and a push shot. I usually try to hit away from the object ball that's touching, or close to touching the cue ball, or hit an an angle to completely avoid either foul. I think that at the speed that tips...

    Anniversary Rails

BTW, my question was posed to Chip Roberson, in case that wasn't clear.

Trent, you are a mental case, and should get help.

    Anniversary Rails

I think you are using incorrect terminology here, or perhaps I will learn a lesson. "Rails" are not the rubber, but the wooden part to which the rubber cushions are attached. (Am I correct?)

Question about sanding down a shaft

I have several Lucasi "extra" shafts, I think they are the "Lucasi Custom Zero Flexpoint Solid Extra Shaft," 12.75mm tip. Anyway, they are solid maple shafts. I really don't like the shiny finish on them, which I'm guessing is some kind of polyurethane. They can feel sticky at times, and you...

Cut it out, Trent, that's not true, and it's not helpful to continually malign me here, for no reason.

Best Recovering Method for an Amateur?

Exactly this. I have samples of both now, a new set of CPBA Competition for a 9' table, and the existing Simonis 860 on my table, plus some scraps of same. I can tell you that the tightness of the weave is almost identical. The Simonis may weigh a bit more than CPBA. (I'm having a bit of...

    Gold Crown Identification

Ah, yes, you guys are right! I never realized the II had mismatched-color metal parts, and that the III had larger aprons.

    Gold Crown Identification

It could very well be a II, as that differed from the I only in having bronze trim and stained wood aprons, legs, etc. The white plastic aprons were often removed to ease maintenance. If it's a III with original rubber, that will likely have to be replaced, as it quickly hardened.
