    The Smoothest Stroke

Yes to Swanson and Searcy A lot of good strokers have been mentioned so far but I have to agree with you here. These were the first two folks I thought of when I read the tread title. Their strokes were so smooth it would make your mouth water.

    Can cues change over time

This is the best explanation I've read on the subject. Just like the tone of a Stadivarius getting better over time, the properties of cue stick wood can bring out subtle but perceptible changes. It seems as if the wood tailors it molecular structure to accept the vibrations going through it...

TAR 21: Pagulayan vs Van Boening. THE REMATCH !!!

A fair price??? Nah ... It's a steal!!! But, I'm still not satisfied. I've got to see this live. My plan is to try and sneak into the studio. I'm sure if I hide in the rafters and stay quiet, I could avoid being detected.

    Speaking of Earthquakes.......

Here in California, we pray for an earthquake to hit right after hanging up the game ball in the jaws.

Three generations of top dogs in Denver -- who's the best?

One of the reasons Mark Haddad is such a fine player is because he cut his teeth playing throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Before he moved to Denver he would've been considered in the top 5 or 6 players in SF. After his move, it was no surprise to me that he is one of the top guns in CO. Of...

$100 Reward for beating my high run at Best Billiards LV

Here I come ... I won't be able to come out within the week but I'll be there next month. If you get a higher run by then, will you still offer a reward for beating it? Either way, your money is safe. I'm helpless at straight pool. In fact, I'm beginning to think I got a 14.1 disability...

    great players from mexico

That was a good account of the happenings around LA. The only other name I would throw in there is Arturo Rivera. In the 80's he was constantly in the hunt for action.

am i the only one who thinks pool tables are too short?

Might have been Earl who said ... I heard someone say, "If yoiu raise the table height by a couple of inches, half the Filipinos would have to quit the game". Whoever it was I'm sure they were just goofing around.

    One pocket anyone ?

1-Pocket in Mendocino Co.??? Going from Hard Times to Mendocino County??? Yikes!!! There are definitely no pool rooms nearby, except for Ichibod's in Eureka. You're going to have to find someone with a home table, for sure. Then you better hope they like One-Pocket. This may be a tall order...

West Coast and 14.1 Straight Pool Tournaments

I played in a couple of Roger's 14.1 events at Hard Times and I could see toward the end, there just wasn't enough interest for him to keep going. Too bad because I know he really likes the game. When it was going, it was interesting to see 9-ball players struggling to play 14.1. There were...

10 Foot Pool Table in Las Vegas! ...at Best Billiards LV

Speaking for CA I've been in pool rooms throughout California, from San Diego to Crescent City, and the only 10 footer I've seen was at Rebco Billiard Faire in Clovis (near Fresno). It was beatiful and well maintained. But get this - they wouldn't let me play on it!!! The guy behind the counter...
