Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

Maybe, but when he missed, Shaw jumped up and put his arms up in celebration. That’s when Fedor conceded the last couple balls. Fedor confirmed that was why he conceded.

BAD CALLS in Pool ... FOULS that Weren't Called

I looked at it in slow motion, .25 speed on YouTube, and it looked like a bad hit to me.

    WPA bans......................

Lots of people are wondering what events could get people banned. The WPA press release says these are the players who will be banned: “Players participating in non WPA sanctioned events that qualify for WPA sanctioning…” What does it mean for an event to “qualify for WPA sanctioning?” On the...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Yeah, it’s just been kinda driving me crazy that 90% of people on the internet are quoting her as saying that, and then acting like it’s the most ridiculous thing they’ve ever heard, when what she said is in the WPA rules almost verbatim. It’s the next part - if there’s a disagreement and the...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

That is literally right there in the WPA rules. What she missed is that it later says that if there is a conflict, and the ref can’t decide either way, the ruling goes to the shooter.

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Yes but it was Scott that told the ref, Hunter didn’t say anything.

the semi-secret Qatar open 2023 (live link)

I hope they don’t go. This seems like a move by the WPA to get some deep pockets to challenge Matchroom, and we all know what Qatar will do to try (unsuccessfully) to purchase international respectability via sport.

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

For sure an experienced ref, but nothing wrong with saying she made a mistake here. The WPA rules, which Matchroom says they use, clearly state that if a ref wasn’t present and the players disagree on whether it was a foul, the ruling is that there was no foul.

    Chess clocks in pool

You may be right, but who knows? I’ve never seen a match with the system you’re talking about. I know for certain that I enjoy watching matches with the 30-sec clock but hate matches with no shot clock.

    Predator's new $79 chalk...

First time I used Taom was a couple years ago when my local pool room owner recommended using it on his tables (recommended nicely, didn’t require it) because he said it was less messy: fewer skids, less hand-washing, less table cleaning, more time between new cloth. I don’t know if it makes as...

    Chess clocks in pool

ShortBusRuss: I just don’t get it. There’s nothing wrong with long games, if there’s lots of interesting back and forth. In fact, they’re better than quick ones. People just don’t like to watch players stare at the table for several minutes. If each shot is 20 sec or so, it’s so much easier to...

    Chess clocks in pool

Chess has a time per game, pool should have a time per shot. You can buy all kinds of clocks, they should be able to make ones that work like pool clocks. A tablet would work, and that could have an app programmed any way you want. You can buy cheap tablets for under $100. The timer countdown...

Duong Quoc vs Deluna us open drama?

The story I heard was that in rack 1, Hoang called a foul on de Lune, but de Luna denied it. De Luna ended up winning I think 9-1 but Hoang wouldn’t shake his hand because of that.

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

lol you’re being a bit of a drama queen here. The ref made a bad call, it happens in every sport all the time, it doesn’t make a dumpster fire.
