At some point, the sample size becomes big enough that you can measure performance accurately. That isn't a fact that is debatable and it applies to everything measureable.

A couple of my buddies play with their pool cues and are fine with em. One has a 3c shaft and prefers to use the pool one
To me, the biggest transferrable skills 3c-> pocket billiards are related to reading how a table plays and how one should approach an object ball (with the cb) when kicking.
