    Curly Walnut?

Just to clarify the curly piece I picked up was Black Walnut. I sanded and sealed a piece with West Systems to see what the finished product would look like. Very happy with the results! I'm thinking a cored Fiddleback Black walnut forearm with a 3 part sectional handle from Fiddleback Maple...

Gary, Let me get it cut up and see what it looks like. I don't think I'm going to use this much.

    Curly Walnut?

Thanks Much! The piece had such tight fiddleback in it that I couldn't leave it behind. Forgot to mention the size of the piece, 115" x 16.5" x 2.25. Ya it was big!

    Curly Walnut?

I have a chance to pick up a really nice piece of tight Curl Walnut. I've never used Walnut in a cue and would like some feedback before I spend the money. http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/m561/Steve_Dunkel013/blackwalnut2.jpg

    Great time at SBE

Meet many AZers and even got my butt kicked on the pool table by a few of them! Waking up sunday morning wasn't very much fun. Looking forward to next year already.

    Fanelli's last works

A laborer works with his hands A craftsman works with his hands and mind An artist works with his hands, mind, soul and heart. I think it's easy to say that Fanelli was an artist.

An interesting thing happened at pool last night

"accidently hit the cushion of a stool with the butt cap and it went flying off". I love when someone damages a pool cue it always isn't their fault and it was floating on a cushion of air and things just fell off! I had a player tell me once that he just noticed that the butt cap magically...

    West System 207

I use Dupont Chromaclear over the top. Been using this combination for years and very happy with the results.

    West System 207

I only put 1 coat on a day. Reason being is that I want to sand out any spots that I'm not happy with. West systems has has very little UV protection and will yellow if you don't use something with UV protection over top.

    Dealing with impatient customers

I am only a part time cue maker. I let the customer know that my family and regular job come first. I never promise a completion date, because I don't want to miss a date that I promised. I don't take a down payment and I give the customer 30 days to return the cue for either a full refund or...
