Just to clarify the curly piece I picked up was Black Walnut. I sanded and sealed a piece with West Systems to see what the finished product would look like. Very happy with the results! I'm thinking a cored Fiddleback Black walnut forearm with a 3 part sectional handle from Fiddleback Maple...

Thanks Much! The piece had such tight fiddleback in it that I couldn't leave it behind. Forgot to mention the size of the piece, 115" x 16.5" x 2.25. Ya it was big!

Agree with Hangemhigh. Use a magnifying head set, same as jewelers use.

I use Dupont Chromaclear over the top. Been using this combination for years and very happy with the results.

I only put 1 coat on a day. Reason being is that I want to sand out any spots that I'm not happy with. West systems has has very little UV protection and will yellow if you don't use something with UV protection over top.
