Orcollo vs SVB in Final 8!

9-0... Wow, I was certainly not expecting anything like that. My money was on Orcollo actually.

Darren's black shaft at the 9 ball World Championship

So, has anyone else seen the shaft Darren was using for his game against Orcollo? Never seen anything like it. Any ideas as to what it might be?

Break speed: what do pros aim for?

Hello guys, Simple question enough: what seems to be a break speed that is considered good enough for world class level? Right now, I can break at 20ish mph reliably, good control enough, but must I go higher? Should I practice to be able to get, say, 25 mph while still having good control or...

    CYBORG cue tip

I am gonna take the opportunity to ask if anyone tried those tips. How do they play? Anyone can compare them to well known tips? Same question goes for the ON chalk. Thanks!

Million Dollar Proposition Shot? - How to Do It!

This is stupid. I can make the cueball jump by itself after striking it with a legal shot and after it came to a stop. Yup, just shake the table with a loader.

Seems like you got yourself a new break cue!

How important is the hop on Shane's break?

I am fairly certain that the hop is a byproduct of the speed and natural small angle of the cue with the table and is thus not intended, but expected. I might be wrong, gotta ask Shane himself I guess!

Do I have to do anything other than throw money at the website to be eligible for the drawing? :D Don't want to be missing out on this opportunity!

    Rare Predator Gordias LE13- #66 of 88

What he said is pretty legit though. That is NOT a stock Z2 shaft. Also, payment as gift means that you are not safe if something happens to the buyer. Gifts are gifts, and Paypal views it as so, if the buyer gets screwed, he gets nothing from Paypal. There is no need to be rude here. He could...

Am I crazy or 314-3 has higher deflection than 314-2??

The things I just read in this thread.... Next thing someone is gonna say that the earth is flat.

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

Care to elaborate? I'm curious as to what you mean by this.

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

I guess what I should have said is : I'd try harder to improve than what I am doing now. Right now I am mostly playing 9 ball for fun by myself and seriously trying to improve only a few days inbetween. With a sponsorship on the table, scrap the fooling around and serious practice all year...

Which one? Neutral racker, breaker racks, or loser racks?

Neutral racker with magic rack. No bad racks, always tight, guaranteed to be fair IMO.

    Hypothetical Sponsorship Proposition...WWYD?

Well, for starters, I'd record myself playing against the ghost for a long while. See how I play, compare it to the big pros out there, find my flaws. What do they do that I don't? With that in mind, I'd try to find my biggest areas of possible improvement. Do I bank considerably less well than...

Anybody excitied about Turning Stone Classic? It's in 2 days with free live stream.

Sylvain is such a great guy and great player! I play every day at his academy, Sylvain has become a good friend in the last 2 months and his pool academy is nothing short of awesome! Pool has been getting a lot of attention here since he opened it, records broken already for junior tournaments...

    First break & run

Thanks everyone! I've been taking lessons from Sylvain Grenier, a pro in Trois-Rivières who owns the pool hall where I play. He's a great teacher and is always willing to answer any questions I might have!

Now THIS is a great shot...

That's Alain Martel! I've seen him a few times where I play. He's a really neat guy and very skilled. That shot was just nuts. It is similar to a trick shot that he practices.

    First break & run

Is snooker popular in Canada? I've yet to see a snooker table in the bars near where I live! I'd definitely like to try snooker eventually though. Especially since it seems to pay a lot at the pro level compared to pool, in Europe at least.
