    First break & run

So I started playing pool at the beginning of July and have been playing pretty much everyday since then. Yesterday was the first time that after breaking, I ran all 9 balls at once. Felt pretty great. There isn't really a point to this thread, just felt like I should share my excitement about...

    J&J cues, very low durability?

For those of you who have bought J&J cues, have you noticed a weakness in the finish / durability of the cue? I have a few cues and they all hold up pretty well, sometimes I do accidently give the butt a little bump here and there but it is usually pretty minor and doesn't show up on the butt...

Standard 4 piece butt vs C4+ vs P3

Hello everyone, I am in the market for a new cue and I am currently strongly considering the Sports 2 series by Predator. They come with a standard 4-piece butt as opposed to the C4+ technology or P3 technology most of their other cues come with. Should I avoid the Sports 2 and spend the extra...

    Trouble deciding on B/J Tip

Sounds like the person that installs them for you doesn't know how to as much as he thinks!

The existence of a women division in some tournaments

Well aren't you the helpful lad. /s To illustrate the ridicule of your answer a bit more, those are all questions which you can find a decent answer within 10 minutes on Google. The best answer I could find regarding my question was what drv4 said and the other came from a thread from a random...

The existence of a women division in some tournaments

I haven't been around here for long. I'm guessing this is a bad question to ask for some reason?

The existence of a women division in some tournaments

Why does it exist? It is easy to understand for physical sports, such as hockey, but why does it exist in billiards? As far as I know, women can perform just as well as men. Is it tradition? If so, it seems kinda weird carrying it on. Is there something I am missing?

    Why all the nicknames?

I guess I must be missing the point of maintaining anonymity. Does it have to do with gambling? Why not just tell that'd you'd rather keep your name a secret, or give a false name instead. Meaningless nicknames are just weird in my opinion.

    Why all the nicknames?

I love watching games on YouTube and reading about other players, but I am really getting annoyed at everyone having a nickname. I think it's exagerrated. I know, it doesn't affect me, so why does it bother me so much? I just think it removes the effect of being recognized by a nickname. When...

The problem isn't that non pool players don't know who Efren is

I am also very much disappointed in the lack of exposure of pro pool. At my pool hall, I've yet to see a pool game on one of the TVs. I just started playing recently and have watched a lot of videos on youtube of pros, mostly SVB, Darren and Efren, yet no one at my pool hall know who they are. I...

    Chinese all-in-one Magic Rack?

As Solomon said, I am here mostly to hear about people using chinese magic racks and their experience with it. I am well aware of the other, more expensive options, but I don't see myself paying that much more (remember that I live in Canada, shipping and stuff gets expensive real quick) for a...

    Chinese all-in-one Magic Rack?

Hello guys, I just saw those cheap magic racks on the web: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAyNFgxMDI0/z/3G8AAOSwBLlVFSuA/$_57.JPG Have any of you guys tried them? They are at roughly 9$ for 6, which is incredibly cheap. That model is also a combo for 8 ball, 9 ball and 10 ball and I was wondering...

What would you have done differently?

Thanks for the reply! Good information. I am curious though, how has watching videos hurt your game? Also, there is a tournament for new players tomorrow at the pool hall where I usually play, I think I will participate after reading your post.

What would you have done differently?

Hello everyone, I am a novice at everything related to billiards and am loving the game, but I am also seriously having a lot of difficulty finding general consensus information. It's all over the place and I don't quite know where to look. I watched videos on YouTube, read what I could on the...
