    Classless Earl Strickland

There's the good kind of "bad guy" that is a draw and makes people want to root against him, and then there's "Earl bad", which just makes everyone shake their heads in disgust and want to get up and leave.

    Plain Jane Cases

I love it... very minimalist, but the great texture in the leather really brings everything together. The fasteners opening front-to-back is a cool idea too, as I'm not a big fan of lids that open from the side and hang off the side of the case when open. This would probably look a little out...

2015 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

That makes sense. I've played on a bar table a handful of times and always found it harder to break and run out, but I always assumed it was because of the crappy equipment and beer goggles. I'd like to play on a nice 7' diamond someday.

2015 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

Sounds interesting, but there are no bar boxes around here for me to play around with. Do you guys think the 8-ball ghost is tougher on a bar box than a 9 footer?

Shane VanBoening wins 2015 Challenge of Champions

Lol that's true... Hopefully we get to see a Ko-SVB rematch at the US Open (finals?!). That would be epic!

How to remove this weight bolt?

Hmm.. whoever made it probably used a thin-walled wrench, like the kind used for wheel lugs. http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/detail.jsp?ID=1

How to remove this weight bolt?

yup, plain ol' socket wrench should do the trick...

    Carry On or Ship It

I would hate the thought of someone going through my cues like that... When I fly, I make sure to wrap a bunch of packing tape around the top of my case and sign it with a big black marker (I use my cheap vinyl case, wouldn't do that with my pricey leather case). If you make them feel like...

Hitting it pure...I'm gonna get hate for this but oh well.

I think most good players tend to use a slow, deliberate backswing, even on power shots. In pool (and snooker for that matter), I believe it's the length (not the speed) of the backswing that determines the speed of the shot.

Hitting it pure...I'm gonna get hate for this but oh well.

Like others have said, timing and acceleration are key, but difficult to consciously control outside of practice. Personally, I like to use imagery to help get the timing down or fix whatever issues I may be having. For example, I find the image the cue tip "biting" into the cue ball prevents...

Ko Pin-Yi. Best player on earth.

Nobody says that when someone jumps on the scene and wins the worlds, like Wu, Hohmann or Peach.

Ko Pin Yi sponsored by Ferrari?

I remember when Coca-cola was sponsoring pool, I made sure to buy cokes. I guess I'll have to do the same with Ferrari. But imagine driving down to the local hall in a Ferarri. By the time you finish your one-pocket match it will probably just be a stripped-down steel frame. But at least...

Ko Pin-Yi. Best player on earth.

Yea, Asian countries tend to hate their neighbours, with a passion. Maybe a communist vs non-communist split would work better... or not.

Ko Pin-Yi. Best player on earth.

These "short-format" races that you guys keep complaining are like coin-flips... even if that were true, it would just make Ko's achievements even greater because it means he's strong enough to consistently win despite the fact that "anyone" can win those matches.

OP updated, sorry for the wait!

Never played - where to start?

I'm not much of a straight pool player, but the few times I tried it on a bar table, I found it got much too crowded to play proper straight pool patterns and breakouts, and had more success with trying to spread the balls around and using the whole table a lot more than I would on a 9 footer...
