    Full splice technique

hi "Ssonerai", I like your 6 pointers. I tried to make them a few years ago. They were so so. I was lucky to find a company to make the 60 degree cutter. They did a good job. But to the subject of cutting consistent birdmouth, I was not too consistent in matching the bottom apex...

    Full splice technique

I have read the forum's rules. I am going to tear down my bandsaw setup to make the bird mouth cut for the full splice joint. Before I do that I thought I would share my technique. This method can be setup on any bandsaw, you don't need a saw with a 3" wide blade. My system is a sliding...

    Coring experiment, aluminum tubes

Some results from the coring experiment. Coring materials, Al tubing, thin and thick wall carbon fiber. Weights, 310 g, 410 g, 430 g, and 460 g. It's still early but hopefully they will be stable and straight. They hit very similar to the full splice cues. Time will tell if they stay...

    Coring experiment, aluminum tubes

I didn't realize there was this much interest in coring. I make full splice cues and have warping problems. I decided to try coring to solve the problem. I wanted to use something that was stable. That's why the Al tubing. I seems to have solved the problem about staying straight. I posted...

    Testing my photos, fullsplice combinations

hi, At the moment I'm not selling stuff. I just saw one of Brent Summers ebony cue blanks and it is very high quality and the price is much less than I would charge. You should get in contact with him. best regards, Ernie

    coring experiment photos

hi Renegade 56, I'm trying to make a stable straight full splice cue. Coring a cue with an A joint is a little different than a full splice. imo. I think aluminum or carbon fiber tubes are more stable than a wood coring dowel. This is the reason I tested this idea. And the aluminum tube is...

    Testing my photos, fullsplice combinations

hi Mr. Ralf, It's good to hear from you. Things here are always good. I'm retired and playing in the shop. I make lots of mistakes but since most projects are just for fun, I don't have to answer to a client. I wish you well and I hope ur having a fun summer, Ernie

    Testing my photos, fullsplice combinations

hi Korsakoff, Thanks for the great suggestions. I did not know about these features. I'm impressed with the results. I was annoyed with my cue warping so I quit for a while until I cored a few last year and they were surprisingly stable. So i decided to build a few cues with combinations that...

Adding weight to a shft question

Adding weight to the joint I add weight to the shaft with different size inserts and with a pin. I also have different size pins to add weight to the joint. Hopefully the photos will help. The cue is 56.5" with a center of gravity at 22.5".
